Terrible app
This is an extremely poor replacement for the previous App.
It is almost pointless as the only thing you can use it for is submit a meter reading. It doesn’t show payments accurately and there is no facility to track usage.
I find it hard to believe that this is the best BG could do. It seems like a huge step backwards from the previous App. I rarely feel motivated to write a review but this is just so bad.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee this app is horrendous compared to the old one! Yes it was abit sluggish and slightly bad to use but this new app is just YUCK!!!!! Overcharge customers make billions in profit and this is the app they have to show for it. Disgusting. I have been using Apple since I can remember and downloading apps from the App Store since I can remember maybe 10 years or so and never have I ever come across utter nonsense. This app is beyond backwards, they have given the word “basics” a new meaning here. I don’t know who engineered this app and I don’t know why they have moved us over when the other app was doing its job. Maybe it needed a few updates but not back dates like they have done. Utterly disappointed it is a utter disservice to all BG customers.

This new app is just a strategy to over charge customers, also the customer service is rubbish.

It is slowly getting better…
Ok after the initial shock and disappointment of a few weeks ago where all seems lost I now have meter readings for both gas and electricity after I switched in the app to 30 minute frequency - this is set under the old system but that hadn’t carried over - also neither has my previous two years of history with BG which is frustrating! Hopefully they will reinstate it soon. Also my first records said old account but now they’ve switched to the new account Apple Pay seems to have made a comeback - hurray… you still can’t use the app for managing your service contract nor switch tariff like the old app used to. The way BG has done the migration is appalling but hopefully they will get there in the end! I’ve made a formal complaint to BG about this and will pursue with Ofgem if not rectified

Here’s a proposal- how about making sure the new app is working before removing the old one - it’s quite basic stuff.
Now we have months and months of tweaking to get everything working properly- when before it was slow, but fine
Great more stress, and I guess the re-design cost will be passed onto customers - thanks
