Cryptomator is a simple tool for digital self-defense. It allows you to protect your cloud data by yourself and independently.

• Create vaults in any location via other File Providers (third-party apps must support this)
• Access your vaults on all your mobile devices and computers

You don't have to trust Cryptomator blindly, because it is open source software. For you as a user, this means that everyone can see the code: https://github.com/cryptomator/ios

• File content and filename encryption with AES and 256 bit key length
• Vault password is secured with scrypt for enhanced brute-force resistance
• Crypto implementation is publicly documented

Great!!

I started using this after having problems with Boxcryptor, which luckily I did because that one ended up ceasing their business due to Dropbox acquisition. I like this better, easier to use, and no problems syncing with Files. I think the paid version is only for making encrypted vaults on mobile, which is free using their desktop app. I got one anyway to support the service. Definitely recommend this for extra security!

Even better

This was a great idea when it first launched and it’s even better now. The iCloud integration on iOS is smooth and is perfect for moving securely between MacOS and iOS. My workflow has changed lots over the years but now it doesn’t have to. Excellent project.
