User Friendly and Cost Effective

I’m very much enjoying the proton product suite, in particular encrypted storage which is not a default offering with other cloud providers. One feature request I do have is the ability to scan PDFs from camera directly (e.g. take a photo of a document, it is then PDF’d on upload).

Disappointing…

I have a 2 year paid membership to Proton, I like the privacy with the VPN, however this application for the Proton Drive is useless, I have it installed on my laptop and on my phone and I can’t even see the files from each device in the same area. Whats the point ?

Too slow

The security it great but I’ve been trying for five hours to load a five minute video! It’s usually very slow but eventually works but it’s getting worse & worse with constant ‘error’ messages. It finally got to 100% after hours and then the video disappeared. It’s currently impossible to load up videos - even short ones. I have the $4.99pm subscription. Highly frustrating and such a big time waster. Please fix this - as it could be a awesome secure service. Happy to change this two stars - if glitch can be fixed or you’ve a solution for me 🙏🏽

Excellent app

It is excellent to see Proton release a cloud storage option. Even better that it’s included in the Proton Unlimited bundle – what a bargain! I am so glad to finally be rid of Google Drive. I am very much enjoying the knowledge that my data are not being mined for every last scrap and morsel of information to feed a multibillion dollar multinational advertising network.

I just wish it would sync all my files, photos and videos automatically. I have to go in and manually do it and I can only select 8 photos to sync at one time.

Not very functional yet. Doesn’t really have any features

I use 1.83GB(emails) of my 540 GB storage because ProtonDrive is not a practical application at this stage. I look forward to the day when I’m naturally using the app between my phone and computer. Automatic camera backup would be a good start for this app. Keep up the good work developer.

The app is not stand alone

It’s just for viewing (in practice). You need to have a computer to move things around and transfer items, and share. None of the functions actually work in this app. Why release something that doesn’t work?

Basically useless as is….

I love the whole Proton Philosophy however, this is Drive is basically a stand alone storage system. It can’t be used across any 3rd party service. For example you can’t use it like Dropbox or similar. You can’t use it to sync other programs, like password managers or any live updating programs. I hope they will get this to work similarly to Dropbox. As I have paid for years for their infrastructure and need to have a company I trust to be able to store and retrieve data instantaneously across multi platforms.

I like Proton, I pay my subscription fee each month and have hundreds of GBs to use for storage to use. Proton Drive is good for storing sensitive documents and some photos, but because it cannot store the files in the cloud and keep them off the device they stay on my phone and use up storage space. And there is no search function. So while the storage is secure it's just not practical for large amounts of files and directories at this stage.
