Description

The Dexcom Follow App is part of the Dexcom SHARE® system.

Use this app if your loved one is sharing data from their Dexcom CGM app. The Sharer will need to send an invitation to allow you to connect after you have installed the Follow app.

Dexcom Follow is the perfect companion to your loved one’s Dexcom CGM, connecting you to those nearest and dearest to you, even when they’re far away. Through secure wireless connections, Dexcom Follow allows you to view and follow the glucose levels, trends and data of your loved ones. Whether you have a child who is in school, an elderly parent who lives on their own, or a spouse who is going on a business trip, Dexcom Follow is there to keep you connected and informed.

With Dexcom Follow, you can:

• Monitor your loved one’s glucose activity at school or anywhere they go.
• Receive glucose information of up to 10 different Sharers – children, friends, or other loved ones.
• Respond quickly with the help of customizable glucose alerts and push notifications that can inform you when a Sharer’s glucose levels are outside the norm.

Dexcom Follow is compatible with your Apple Watch. You can follow and view glucose information and trend graphs of up to ten people right on your wrist. Your watch can also alert you when sharer's glucose levels are outside the norm.

Do not use Dexcom Follow for treatment decisions, such as insulin dosing. The Sharer should follow instructions on the CGM system.

Not dependable, not safe

undertheBodhiTree on

Update: The developer response here is really pathetic. If this were in individual issue, there would not be negative review after negative review listed here. It is very apparently the fault of systemic issues and a bewildering lack of updates for this app. My calling the tech line to be told to restart my phone or turn off features that interact with Dexcom’s functionality is insulting and avoids the issues entirely. I read the help section front to back. My phone works properly. This app doesn’t. If this tech worked consistently, it would be fantastic. Last night, my twelve year old son went low 4 TIMES. He was sleeping right next to his phone, and it’s running the latest version of iOS. His phone never alarmed once. Not a single notification. I checked all settings, all notifications are on, wifi and data are on, screentime is turned off. Phone sits on it’s charger all night and is fully charged. And nothing. I double checked his alarms, all on. Ringer is on and turned all the way up. Nothing. I double checked all settings on my phone. All good. I DID get notifications, many of them. But my alarms all came through as vibrate. THEY ARE NOT SET THAT WAY. My ringer is on, turned up. Alarms are set to audible sounds )loud, alarming sounds, the app’s defaults) No sound. Only vibrate. He didn’t go scary low, but none of us knew and it could have been very life threatening. Think twice before relying on this tech for anyone’s safety.

It shows the latest updated number, but fails to provide historical data with no graph.

Notifications

Really wish this app had consistent notifications, it’s a 50/50 chance of being notified of lows.

The was great but…

Meskriel on

The app has worked perfect for years but the past week I have not had any data on the follow app despite uninstalling and reinstalling several times. My son’s dexcom app has also stopped working several times and he has also had to uninstall and reinstall his app. We’ve had him go back to finger sticks just to make sure we know what his blood sugar reading is in case the apps fail again. I wished they’d fix whatever this glitch is so it will be a reliable app once again.

Never alerts me

Tina heffie on

My daughter is 4 so this app gives me major peace of mind when I'm not with her being able to monitor her blood sugars. BUT the follow app never goes off on my phone, even when on loud I never get a notification or tone or anything.

Connectivity issues

Twebz13 on

We went from using a Libre to Dexcom- this follow app is far less superior! It constantly loses data connection and currently my daughters app has not connected to my Follow app in over 12-14 hour periods. Very unsafe for adolescents and kids that aren’t always with their parent or guardian. Dexcom please fix this ! ! ! !

No Data

Update your app once in a while, tired of not being able to track my young daughter

Different chimes/tones please

302FordGirl on

My husband has diabetes and the app he has has a pleasant chime. I have the follow app, and it’s obnoxious. Should be the other way around for a forceful alert for the main user to have and followers to be able to pick or use their own tone. Please consider this, already a hard medical issue to have, why not make it enjoyable for the user and family who has the app.

Requires uninstall and reinstall with iPhone 15

megwenbourne on

Mostly just FYI - just upgraded my phone from a 12 to a 15 and this app does not run on the 15 without a complete uninstall and reinstall (at least for me). Without the aforementioned actions, the app just crashes and closes 2 seconds after I click the icon. Was able to get it to work, but required a new invite from person I follow. The fact that this app exists is a miracle and gives peace of mind to not only my T1 bestie and me, but to her family who are all the way on the other side of the continent from us. Still haven’t heard any noise/alerts from it, but I think that may be due to her personal settings and mine, which is fine for now. Thank you for the follow up.

App crashes

With dexcom 7; no matter what you do won’t work. I used to be able to keep an eye on my husband’s health; but I got tired of this crashing app
