The worst library app

evoeco on

If you have a few thousand references in your library and you want to see the most recent ones......guess what.....you have to scroll through the thousands of references each time before you see all the way down the recent ones. After a week you have wasted some hours scrolling and also got carpal tunnel syndrom. The software developers carelessly forgot to put a ordering option where newest references would be on top. They could have watched a user for five minutes and see the problem. It is useless if you have more than a few hundred references in your library. The bug was not fixed on the november 2014 update and thus Endnote for iPad remains as useless as before! ...Now, half a year later, the problem is still not fixed, although tech support said they would do it. They don't seem to care about customers!still useless. Now, a year later, I still have to scroll for ages before I can see the recent references. It is useless and I give now up on this app. Amateurs at work who ignore their customers! Now almost one and a half years later still the same with endnote, after several updates. Those guys don't seem to care at all. But the very good news is that I switched to the app called PAPERS, and it is real great for everything!!! Now it is 2017 and still the same sorting problem that makes it totally useless. Wrote them several mails but they don't care!

Tooooo bad

works, but...

...far behind of what other tools offer. Not worth the money.

Good idea - but needs A LOT of improvement

Joe_71 on

- Sync with Endnote Web is very slow and crashes often - Attachments need to be downloaded separately for each and every attachment which is a real pain and limits the usefulness of this App considerably - no real PDF annotation is possible (the "annotations" made in endnote do not sync with the desktop version of Endnote Expecting the App to do just that was my main motivation to get an iPad Air and the Endnote App. I am now totally disappointed that a renowned company like Thomson Reuters delivers such a premature product. I really hope that future versions of the App will fix These issues

Clumsy, cumbersom

Thms8 on

Can not recommend. Sync via endnote web doesn't work for me. Adding new references is not easy. Etc. As always with Endnote, users have to wait until the cometition is far ahead before some of the cool features become available. To add to the pain, the PC version is outrageously expensive. Not worth my hard earned money.

Sync works perfect - improve annotation

JanTM on

Sync over EndNote Web works great also with pdf. Annotation is very basic and could be improved: - add thinner pen for writing - add text selection for copying text - add notes function to type in notes in the pdf - no automatic sync of the annotations made on the iPad (only over manual ex- and import) - automatic sync of annotations would be great Further group sets defined in x6 are not synchronized. I define different group sets as different projects I work on. On the iPad I see only the subgroups. Group set synch would be very helpfull. If you work with EndNote on your desktop computer a must have!
