Hatch+ offers auto-renewing subscriptions. This will continue to give you unlimited access to content while you maintain an active subscription. Cancel anytime. Payment will be charged to the credit card connected to your App store Account. Your subscription will automatically renew and the credit card connected to your App store Account will be charged at the subscription frequency you choose unless you decide to cancel at least 24 hours prior to your renewal date. You may manage your subscription, and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after the purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

Irritating

Constantly having to wait for it, guessing if it’s reconnected or not. Every time I use it I end up feeling annoyed.

Horrible

Love the concept of the Hatch, however, it takes way too long to load and connect. When you finally connect to it, it then takes forever to change the lights or sounds to what you want as it keeps reloading. Don’t bother buying.

Painfully slow and laggy

This should be a pretty basic app - adjust the sound and light settings on your hatch. But for some reason it needs to re-find and re-connect to your hatch device every time you open the app. This is PAINFULLY slow and means you spend ages just staring at the app loading. Please fix! Update a few months later: app is still terrible… why? Other similar apps I have “just work” eg dishwasher, drier, baby monitor. Why is Hatch so laggy and unreliable?

So slow to load

Conceptually, Hatch is great. The programmes are great. The lights look good. The settings are good. The ability to play music is good. But, when it’s the middle of the night and the baby starts crying and you want to quickly put music or white noise or a light or whatever it is that settled the baby on, it is INCREDIBLY frustrating that it takes a while to load, then seems to need to reload. Or sometimes you move a slider but then it resets the screen again. Meanwhile, we have a cheapo light from Smart Life, the app for which is 100% responsive every time. If they can figure out how to get their light to connect instantly, surely Hatch can as well?

Horrendous

Utterly useless. Don’t waste your money. Stopped working less than a month into using it. Really bad! Hard to use. Terrible design. Avoid!

Incredibly frustrating

While we love our hatch, the app is incredibly frustrating to use. It often forgets who you are, making you log in but it then takes multiple attempts to actually log back in. Whenever we load it up to change the settings and adjust the sliders it reloads the page so you have to do it all over again, often making a big jump from quiet to loud which startles our baby. Sometimes it can’t find the device at all even when we’re stood right next to it. I’m currently trying to change the volume but it just won’t connect to the device. All of this is incredibly inconvenient and frustrating when you’re trying to sort it out while holding a fussy baby. We use it as part of our bedtime routine so the baby’s patience is at his lowest and he doesn’t really tolerate having us fuss with the app for ages instead of rocking him. These issues have been going on since we started using it 4 months ago and we’ve not really seen an improvement despite multiple app updates. A big shame as the concept is really great

Connectivity issues

Frequently forgets that you are logged in and then fails when you put in your credentials, but if you reboot the app a few times it will remember that you are logged in after all. It then often can’t find the device, and when it does eventually find it you will get the ‘We can’t connect to your hatch device’ message if you are not stood directly next to it. For a very expensive product I’d expect a lot more; we previously had a much cheaper alternative to this device and the app worked considerably better.

Extremely frustrating

So here I am yet again at 2 am, trying to get a bit more light out of my lamp. It takes 5 freakin minutes for it to find the lamp when I am in bed next to it and then it does what it always does. I change the luminosity, nothing happens to the lamp…and a new view is pushed with the old settings, so I can do it all over again! As an iOS engineer myself I am telling you, an unpaid intern could do a better job at this app, it’s so atrocious! How do you not fix basic stuff that always happens….for 6 months now?!

So frustrating!!

We love our Hatch BUT trying to control it via the app is a nightmare! We have to be within 10 feet of it in order for the app to be able to connect to it. Not at all useful if you want to control it from anywhere apart from right next to it. For a relatively pricey nightlight I’d expect better from the app.

Great device and app

Very simple and useful device and app. The only thing I would like to add, it will be great if the sound and light bar will have numbers.
