What other learners are saying
"I've been using Memrise for about two years, studying European Portuguese. I have the paid version - it's a solid learning tool, and it has been my primary resource ever since got it. I find the Learn with Locals feature to be especially useful, more so as my Portuguese improves. My wife and I spent a couple of weeks in Portugal a few months ago, and we were able to handle all of our transactions - stores, restaurants, markets, car rental, etc!" - Voloúre

Pleasantly engaging

Honestly, I found it rather lovely! - Engaging content, visuals and activities.

Cannot see all the courses I can see on the website

merveaydinchester on

I would like to be able to add the courses which are on the website on my app. This option however is not possible anymore and this is not what I payed for honestly!

Changed for the worse

I’ve been using Memrise for over a decade. The restructuring and increased price on payment plans is, quite frankly, disappointing. What I used to pay for an annual fee is now the monthly fee! I cancelled the subscription. But above all, the singular fact that I no longer have access to courses/modules that I have already COMPLETED because they are behind the paywall is an absolute joke. I used to always recommend Memrise over Duolingo as a teacher and language learner, but now I’ve half a mind to uninstall the app altogether. What are you doing? Be better.

Too expensive and no purchase option for 1 languge

MrJamezMC on

South Africa

I want to just learn Portuguese and the only option is to unlock all languages at a MASSIVELY expensive price. This is such a greedy money making tactic rather than giving us the option to pay far less for just a single language. Very sad, guess I’ll have to find a different app that isn’t so greedy.

Feel like I’m actually learning

I’m newly on board and enjoying the combination of audio & video pronunciations along with the flash card and typing in spelling functionality. It will be interesting to see how the course deepens over time:)
