Memrise: Sprich neue Sprachen

please bring back the old method of learning words and make an option to disable the sounde effects. also the waiting time after guessing until the next word is way too long

Es wäre nicht fair eine 1* Bewertung ab zu geben, den der Ansatz ist gut. Ich fand die Vorgänger-Version jedoch um einiges Besser. Das lernen der Worte war sehr intensiv. Die Wörter wurden einem förmlich Gebetsmühlen-Artig eingetrichtert. Jetzt wird ein Wort ca. 4 mal wiederholt und ist anschliessend in der Wiederholfunktion unter den anderen x - 1000Wörter auffindbar. Die neue Funktion in der mal mittels KI in einem Chat über verschiedene Themen schreiben kann ist jedoch super. Insgesamt wünsche ich mir jedoch bei den Wörter die man lernt die vorherige Version zurück.

I have been using it since 17 and I loved Memrise whenever I started learning a language. After I learned some common phrases I usually switched to popular textbooks and Memrise the words from the textbook. Two updates ruined everything. First they separated community course from official which means I couldn’t easily access textbook vocabulary via their apps. Second they changed their official courses, making some words non-free. I basically have to pay 18 bucks to review what I have learned before the update and that sucks. I know you make money from it. But why don’t you just make the native speaker part pro instead of the words??? I’m so disappointed

This app used to be great, now they remove half of the interesting features… I guess we will have to move to open sources alternatives as Anki

Hallo zusammen Das App ist toll! Ich lerne fast jeden Tag seit einigen Monaten spanisch… jedoch wäre es toll wenn Ihr einen Abschnitt mit den wichtigsten Fragewörter und Verben erstellen würdet. Das wäre extrem super, dann wäre die App eine 10/10. Hoffe ihr setzt so was vielleicht mal um. Danke!

Je n’avais pas mis à jour, contrairement à ce que je pensais. Ma série n'a pas été affectée.

Since they removed the community based courses, the usecase for this app has dropped a lot. For the level of language i want to learn, there is nothing on the app, only beginners up to maybe B1. Also niche languages cannot be learned anymore. It used to be one of the best language learning apps but now I don‘t know how to even use it. I would even pay to get the old features back, but now…

I was a satisfied user of Memrise Premium for a long time. However, the recent changes—especially the removal of community courses in favor of AI integration—have completely ruined the app. The unique value and richness that came from user-generated content are now lost. I no longer find the app enjoyable or useful and have switched to an alternative platform. Memrise has gone from being my favorite language learning tool to a major disappointment.
