Try sending money from abroad to your account
Monzo is touted as a good travellers bank. All looks good as long as funds come from a bank in the UK. As soon as you want to transfer funds FROM an international bank TO Monzo, that’s when the glossy colourful vaneer comes off. Instead of seeing a shiny new agile, innovative ‘fintech’, you see an archaic stiff old bank that can’t even offer an IBAN number and refuses debit card top ups from any other country apart from Australia and New Zealand. That goes back beyond the dark ages of banking. You could find yourself really stuck abroad if you need a funds transfer from someone you are visiting abroad for example.
Fantastic app and concept! But...
The app has been crashing more frequently; especially when I tried to tap on my menu when I'm viewing a transaction. Do fix this soon, thanks!
