Great app and having used the Mercedes and JLR app this is as good if not better than both, BUT, one item that would be massively beneficial is being able to select a temperature for the precondition… this currently o my runs from the app at the temp last used in the vehicle… can this be an option on future updates to be able to change the temp from the app itself to make the cabin either warmer or cooler…?

Latest update two days ago and all my journeys have disappeared- what’s happened BMW?? Update 20 June 2024: Suddenly the journeys reappeared, so two more stars given.
Really good app, informs of important info regarding my car, allows for quicker software updates when compared to updating through the car and easy to keep on top of servicing etc.
I can now open the app and use again. This tyre warning was the most annoying feature I have ever come across for an app with cars, there’s always minor niggles and items that might never appeal or get used, but that tyre warning was so frustrating I stopped using the app because of it. It really ground me that much. My colleagues have said it’s removed, Ive tried it and found great it’s gone. So I thank BMW on removing and allowing use of an app. Would even consider M40 elec. car next
Good to confirm that doors are locked/windows closed, when you suddenly doubt whether they are! You can also lock/unlock the vehicle remotely. It takes a little while but can be handy - I let my 17yr old into the car, as I was off on a walk and he got there ahead of me. Checking the mileage is also handy sometimes, for filling out vehicle documents when you aren’t with the car.
When can I expect the above to be available for my new X1 running on the version 9 platform
The App works then it doesn’t! Every update seems to fix one fault and then add another. Currently I can’t filter out charging at home so I know how much to add to the electric account, it just gives everything; this used to work fine. Then it loses charging data, the point of having data is that it’s accurate otherwise just might as well make up random numbers! Connectivity with car can be poor in locations like home, where it’s previously worked well, for no apparent reason. Then when you try and contact BMW the general advice is to refresh the App and the Car system updates, this has only worked on one occasion. I am not convinced they log faults, or provide customers with one so BMW can see what’s going wrong. The way the App performs it seems like BMWs pre-release testing of the App is poor. It does make you wonder if they can be trusted to write software for the car. . . No they can’t that’s got its own issues. To be fair it worked a whole lot better with the G01 X3 than it does with the U11 X1.
We can do pretty much anything on the app but sadly and very disappointing is the software update which doesn’t work… it can be downloaded but never installed
