I downloaded this app, mostly because I’d lost faith in Notesplus, and initially it was great, but over the last few months my notes will not open, it takes a minute or two, before the note will finally open, it’s getting more & more unusable, disappointed.

I love this app and have been using it for years. However today I just can’t seem to get the handwriting convert to text to work, or do searches in my handwritten notes. Please resolve as I don’t want to change to another app! Thanks

I created a notebook and entered a few lines of text. Looked at the sample notebook a bit and then got sidetracked for an hour or so. When I went back to the app, neither notebook will open. Created another one, it opens okay so far. Exported all three to files. The original two still won’t open if i share them to noteshelf, the third does but I haven’t entered anything into it yet. A little concerned as to the stability and safety of the data. Sent emails from within the app to support, hopefully they will respond quickly (they didn’t, it took FIVE days to get an initial reply) and sort the problem out (not yet). Not very impressed so far. One other niggly point, I decided to turn auto-backup on just in case it helps keep the remaining test notebook alive, it sets it up but shows 0/3 notebooks being backed up, so you have to set it to backup each notebook before it will AUTO backup each notebook! Might be better if it automatically added all the notebooks and you could turn them off if you wanted to, or ask me, or else don’t call it auto-backup… I presume that also means that if I create a new notebook (assuming I continue using it) then I will also have to remember to go and turn the backup on for it or else if it too vanishes I will find it’s lost for good! Requested a refund, back to GoodNotes5 at least I know my notes won’t suddenly self-destruct!

Would be 5 stars but almost daily it offloads notebooks to the cloud and I have to re-download. Not only is that a huge pain, but if I’m not on wifi I’m stuck.

Typed text does not line up with lines of the paper. Any time you type, you are forced to type into text boxes that slide all over the page as you work. Why can’t you type directly onto the page without text boxes, in the way notability does it; with page lines adjusting as you type. Users want to handwrite as well as type, so don’t neglect the typing features. In addition to those type features, I need to be able to easily create and modify a content page(document outline) so I can jump to relevant sections of my notebook. Every feature I have listed here is an absolute must for me! I liked the notebook structure and I had imagined all the notebooks I was going to create. Those hopes were dashed when I downloaded the app. Fix these things ASAP and I will gladly update this review. Until then, app is deleted. Very disappointed.

Everything is so aesthetic

I am so disappointed with this app and the lack of support. I plan digitally and was hoping that Noteshelf would replace another popular app I have been using that has become increasingly buggy. On the good side the handwriting experience is absolutely great. On some other areas there are limitations but I was happy to work around. However the limitations on image manipulation is what I would expect from a free app. I can enlarge but not stretch out sideways! This makes it unusable for me. And makes the other issues annoying. I also sent support a couple of messages - no response so disappointed. I wish I hadn’t spent £9 on this app.

Unlike other note taking apps this one improves / smooths my appalling handwriting so that it’s almost legible. Highly recommended.

I have used practically ALL free and paid/subscription based note-taking apps on the App Store (Evernote, GoodNotes 5, Notability etc.). I have to say that ‘Noteshelf’ is priced very competitively and features NO subscription based models. Just a simple one-off payment of £8.99 (10 USD). There is just something addicting about using this app to write with and take down notes. The app itself has a lovely selection of pens and a pencil to use (ballpoint, fountain, felt-tip and pencil) as well as highlighters. When you write there is some intentional drag as to improve your handwriting so if you’re writing in the iPads glass screen, there isn’t as much noticeable ‘wobble’ in your writing. When paired with a matte paper like screen protector this makes for some very clean handwriting and incredibly legible notes (I have doctors handwriting I can’t lie). The app has some amazing features that allow you to organise and pair notebooks or solo notes into clear channels to be accessed whenever you need them. You can also directly open PDF files and other files to annotate over. All in all I have to say that this app is amazing and just feels better to use than other note taking apps.

I’ve been using noteshelf for a while and don’t often leave reviews. But this is just one of those apps/platforms I find incredibly useful. It’s become my go to place to make notes - as I always know where they are and can more easily find notes instead of flicking through pages and pages on a paper notebook. I do wish this was a available on desktop PC, to simply type notes and be able to read notes. Using it with Evernote means you can then look up notes on desktop when synced - if Evernote can do it, there’s no reason why Noteshelf can’t! Either way it’s still my go-to note taking platform. Love it. And the templates they have on offer for things like daily schedules. Well worth using.
