This is a very helpful app to get for Cochlear User,…. I enjoy it so much and it makes life a lot easier! I use the app on my iPhone14, iPad Mini, iPad9, and soon will try for my new iWatch and MacPro. GREAT APP! Keep up the good work. Thanks Cochlear!
Iphone updates messes up settings
Every time there is an iphone update it messes up some of the nucleus settings. Wouldn't be a huge deal if it was not an all day trip to and from the audiologist office to change the settings back to what they were. Wish there was a way to lock in the current settings after appointments, including the sensitivity setting, to prevent any unwanted changes (goes back to default setting). Having an option of a separate device that is not at all connected to a cell phone would be the best of all or is available on the remote (has only volume and different mapping settings). I also can't leave bluetooth on because it is always trying to connect to anything that has bluetooth and the nucleus doesn't have a setting to limit this. Have a yes/no to connect pop up option would be good with an option of "want this to be asked again" option. This app needs more work and I wish I could talk to someone more about this.
Decent app
The Nucleus smart app makes it easier to control the volume as well as use the firsts focus feature. It also has general cochlear implant information also. The biggest issue is that it takes like 2-3Gb of space on the phone for something so simple - be aware!!
For something you paid $4k for, this sure is unreliable
Ended up getting a error about this device being unsupported (iPhone 7, latest version at the time). Contacted support, who was no help and basically told me to buy a new phone. At this point I’ve basically ended up reverse engineering the app and implementing it myself, as it’s simply inexcusable that a critical daily item like this is completely non functional in the app created by the company that made the product. Complete and utter trash. Watch app used to work, and no longer does. No point to downloading this anymore.
FaceTime
Since the last update the connection wont work for FaceTime only(calls etc do work)
It says that the audio output is the implant but no sound comes out.
Bluetooth issues
This app sucks. I’m constantly having it disconnect from my iPhone. Currently I’ve had no connection for 2 days. I need the Bluetooth to talk on the phone so it’s very frustrating when this happens. It’s been an ongoing problem for the last two years since I got my CI. Sometimes it connects sometimes it doesn’t
Loses connection
Processor is lost when making or receiving phone calls. Thoroughly ticked off at this. If your only response is to contact support forget it. I have contacted them numerous times.if I could select a minus star it would be -10.
Painful to connect
New version (1 week?) takes a long (long) time to find my processor. Annoying.
Lots of problems with this app
There are frequent connectivity problems. I often loose the connection between one or the other of my processors. I do have the most recent firmware update for the processors but the Bluetooth connection is still very unstable. I often have to go the the entire process of deleting the app, close and restart the iPhone, re-install the app, and then re-pair. I use an IPhone 7 and an IPad and switching between them is painful.
Geez, even sending this message is painful as they ask me for a nickname and it says “that name is taken” for every name I try including my registered name.
Pairing
I’m having so many issues the past 2-3 months where the iPad or phone won’t pair hence zip for streaming. I’ve had my cochlear implants for a few years with no problems, now it’s always something!
