I love the app and the recipes, but the font in the recipe descriptions is tiny. Being able to adjust it would be really helpful.

I love this app but…

duckingmiracle on

This app is so super and I am sharing this here because last time I explained a UX issue in the comments, the dev team actually fixed it right away! It blew my mind! They are awesome. Here’s the user issue- I have a chicken breast in my fridge. I need to use it. It’s there for a reason- it’s on my grocery list. But for what recipe? So I go to my grocery list to find the recipe that has a chicken breast. Okay. Now I want to go to the recipe. But I can’t. Grrr. I have to go back to my recipe box and search for the recipe by name. Is there a way that I could either click through to the recipe or could my grocery list also be a folder? Both options would solve the issue. Thank you SO much!!!

A happy surprise

When The Food Network app became too ratings-motivated, I looked into NYT Cooking and have not been disappointed.

My go-to

Cook from New Haven on

I love having the Times at my fingertips for everyday cooking as well as special events. Often the short videos are a really helpful bonus, too.

This website is impeccable!

So helpful

Simply the best for me. I look at it every day and cook from it 3-4 times a week.

My recipes

My recipes on

I love this site. The recipes are clear, easy to understand, and don’t require too much time. My primary beef is with the website. I have an extensive recipe box subdivided into many smaller categories. Some can be found in more than one of them. It has become more and more difficult to access them using my categories rather than the ones supplied by the Times, which has frustrated me no end.

Love it!

There are always new recipes to try, and I’ve had success with almost all of them I’ve made. I also like the feature where you can press “start cooking” and your device screen doesn’t lock. There’s nothing worse than having messy cooking fingers and having to unlock your screen for the next step in a recipe.

Watch app doesn’t work

mturvey522 on

The iPhone app is great. Standalone, that would be 5 stars. But they have an Apple Watch app that has never worked for me in the entire year that I’ve had my watch. I’ve read Reddit forums that confirm that this problem affects others. I wish they just wouldn’t claim to have a watch app, as it is frustrating to see it but not be able to use it.

Used daily

mckrutsch on

My wife and I use daily, we find it a very useful addition to the bookcase of cookbooks. One thing I would find useful would be to change the background of the comment icon to a color (like red) when you add a private comment. I know that if you look at comments your private comments will show, but this would be a quick visual reminder that you have made a private comment. Thanks
