What are the NZeTA & IVL?
The NZeTA is a border security measure introduced by the New Zealand Government on 1 October 2019.
To find out more, visit the Immigration New Zealand website. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/nzeta
Most visitors coming to New Zealand must pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). The IVL is a way for you to contribute directly to the tourism infrastructure you use and help protect the natural environment you enjoy during your stay in New Zealand. For more information on the IVL, visit this website https://www.mbie.govt.nz/immigration-and-tourism/tourism/tourism-funding/international-visitor-conservation-and-tourism-levy/.

NZeTA Reviews

Caution!!! Scam/assistive website

Samluongo on

United States

This website is run by a company wanting to assist in obtaining visas. This is not the official New Zealand website. Would like to charge an additional hundred dollars per traveler. Look for the official NZTD website or app.

Ruined my vacation

PJ PalEazze! on

United States

This app literally ruined my vacation. You need to swipe down to refresh the status from pending, which is so unintuitive. It had apparently been processed 10 days prior and I’m going elsewhere now. Note to developers: you’re negatively impacting your entire economy! Update your logic so that it refreshes when you open the app!

Cannot renew

PFZ 49 on

United States

I got my first NZeTA easily two years ago but now it is time to renew the system has all my information but it is frozen and I cannot move forward. I just keeps saying “checking”. I don’t know what to do.

worked fine for the two of us

edl1957 on

United States

Not sure why others had issues. I was able to submit both of our applications without any problems. Scan the passport, take the photo, answer the questions, and pay with credit card. Took about five minutes each, and we each got approved about ten minutes later. It was pretty painless. We are from the US if that matters.

Easy and convenient with some minor rough edges

LBfromSF on

United States

Credit card scanner and photo capture is a bit finicky, but otherwise a smooth and convenient visa process! Much better than the website forms for other countries.

Easy and quick

Ohno12345 on

United States

This is the best app so far for getting visa approval.

Great if only adding one person

Nipponnap on

United States

As with others, I was able to complete my application but there is no way to add another traveler as it goes to a terms screen with no option to agree or to move forward. The other thing that would be helpful is if you do get your info entered and need to wait to add another that it would hold the original info in the app, if you close it or get stuck because you can’t go forward or back, it deletes everything you entered. I’ve wasted a lot of minutes hoping this app would be helpful, but still am going to have to go online to do my husband’s application. Just go straight to the web and save yourself the frustration!

It’s either down or a bug

Morgan square on

United States

Downloaded App and clicked begin and then I was moved towards this screen. “Sorry, an error occurred. The services this app requires are experiencing an outage.”

Success

CALefty on

United States

Worked fine for me. It scans passport and credit card data, takes your photo, so there’s minimal data entry. Quick and painless, except for the new price!

Passport scanner is not functioning, this app needs improvement
