Everything started smoothly but once you hit the “Australian permanent resident” page and clicked yes, there’s no “next” button to proceed to the next page, had to use the web to apply the ETA, and pay extra, and takes longer to get an approval. What a joke, it’s 2023!
The app was really easy to use, and I completed my entire application for my NZeTA within 5 minutes and it got approved 2 minutes after submitting. It scanned my passport accurately and it allows you to take a photo of yourself for the application as well. Interface of the app could be improved but it got the job done!
I only paid 17$ is it okay?

Wouldn’t scan my passport, selected Yes to Permanent Resident but charged as non resident. Went back to re enter that info and had to start all over again. Grr Fortunately my husband was applying on his phone too so that I didn’t have to add him as a traveller. I’ve since read other reviews saying that scenario is dire. What a horrible experience and start to our journey. Air New Zealand never mentioned the need for an eta if you are a permanent Resident but don’t hold an Australian or New Zealand passport. They should read your reviews.
Why should we have to pay $17 + $35 just to visit NZ? No thanks.
App claims we don’t need an NZeTA to come to New Zealand, our cruise line disagrees. No way past this it seems! Why is this app so bad for so long with so many complaints and yet doesn’t seem to get updated or fixed?! It’s embarrassing.
The app is absolute rubbish, I couldn’t scan my passport. What I really want to know is why do I need to get a transit visa for every time I flight through NZ if the visa is valid for a year???????????
Easy as you can expect it to be. 1. Scan the bottom end of your passport page for the code under reasonable light conditions. 2. Take a selfie / submit a headshot. 3. Answer less than 10 questions. 4. Submit payment (ETA fee + Tourism Levy).[2022] 5. Received in 5 mins in my inbox (up to 72hours). Good Work NZ gov 👍🏻
Stranded at Melbourne airport NZ gov go bankrupt. If you want money, develop something good. Happy to pay you bucks but make it quicker!
