• PRC/HK/Taiwan-friendly: every part of Pleco supports both traditional and simplified, headword readings can be shown in Pinyin and Zhuyin, and some dictionaries even support Cantonese. (note: stroke order diagrams do support traditional characters, but use PRC order)

Amazing but a bit expensive

I have had Pleco for a loooooooooooong time and it has significantly improved my Chinese. I use it for my Chinese homework. However it may be a too expensive though. Even though I am a kid, I will not spend $100.00 on some dictionary’s and add ons.

Best Most Reliable App Ever

Iv been using for about 10 years, nothing is as good as this. The only app I would bother to give a review, to all the people who have made this possible, thank you from the bottom of my heart 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.

Brilliant tool for learning Cantonese

Long-time fan of this app. Recently realised that the voice recognition is amazing, this has been a real turning point in expanding my Cantonese vocabulary. When watching Chinese TV I use voice input to translate sentences that I half-understand. If my pronounciation is clear I’m rewarded with a perfect translation (wow!). Many other useful features too. Personally I use bookmarks, stroke diagrams and enjoy investigating the composite characters. It’s a feature-rich software so I wish I could use it on a desktop, I hope the web-based app becomes a reality. Good luck to the Pleco team.

Indispensable

I use Pleco every day as I slowly expand my vocabulary. It’s been amongst my most useful appa since around 2014. The clipboard reader is really useful. Occasionally I play the sound of a character or word.

The new version is even better , if that is possible. I think of all the wasted hundreds of hours looking up words in dictionary hard copies before Pleco
