When it works we like it a lot, but I have concerns around long term support and some basics. Currently the app does not appear to be taking commands that I want to disable one schedule and turn on another. If I go to report this to support I have to go through a myriad of web pages and options. Going to support from the Apple App Store just takes you to an installation page that is of no value. There times as well where the app simply cannot control a window correctly, or at all. I have had situations where a blind is working completely fine for over a year, then suddenly it won’t lower the shade anymore. I press the physical button and the shade goes down, and through the app the shade will go up. Try resetting the shade and the app makes no difference. Then a couple weeks later it all works again. Other shades have done the same though with completely no automation control. I should note that these blinds are in the same room as a repeater, the repeater flashes blue indicating that it gets and is transmitting signals, and all my blinds are hard wired to power (no batteries needed). Hunter Douglas has a new series out that uses a different communication technology. Does that mean that my extremely expensive investment into automation of all my blinds has a limited shelf life? Will Hunter Douglas come and update the mechanicals to the new technology that presumably fixes the sporadic communication issues?
We bought these blinds because the previous generation supported HomeKit. It is supposedly coming to the new generation, but 6 months later still no HomeKit support. It would be great to use Siri on my HomePod to activate my blinds as intended when we bought them.
It’s disappointing that you need to spend another couple hundred dollars to get voice control. Bit of a rip off in my opinion. Otherwise really excellent little app
We have had Hunter Douglas blinds for just over a year now. The standard remote works great, but this app along with the Hub is not great. It regularly does not communicate with one or another blind intermittently. We have repeaters and have tried resetting things multiple times and called support. Just again today we had a blind we were able to raise a bit and then later we lost control of it via the app, so we had to get the standard remote. Just annoying. It means you can not rely upon this app and hub.
App was working fine untill the last iOS update 15.6.1. I could no longer add or modify scenes. I discarded the app and downloaded it again. I cannot accept the agreement as the screen flickers.
The application works very well in WiFi. However it is almost useless when not at home. Functionality must be the same whether at home or remotely
System works seamlessly with my Hunter Douglas and MHZ Shades. Easy integration to my Alexa and Apple HomeKit.
Got hub connected shades the wanted to hook up to Alex. PowerView account needed. App only sign up but app won’t display a connect/apply button Appears to be app sizing issue. Support says call dealer and have them come out and install app on my phone. What BS… am I going to call the dealer whenever I change device! Rick Weidel
Since the last update the PowerView will only connect by remote connect, and will not connect with wifi so most of the functions are lost
