Keeping the app open and the phone unlocked with screen on for extended periods of time is not ideal (and not safe). Also: I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some sort of Linux API/app to start syncing my (server) backups to Proton! Great work Proton, just a nice steady stream of great features!
I am a fan, however I cannot choose to use mobile data to do automatic backup of photo’s. I only have mobile data subscription.
Photobackup is great, would be better with: - backup available not only on wifi but also with mobile data (unlimited data bundels) - i have the 500gb subsciption and still get the almost full message and upgrade subscription. Please remove and or add options to upgrade disksize (1tb etc) without the need to purchase family or business plans. Hope this will be available soon.
I am currently using Dropbox for my private files, and I will switch definitely once the ‘share with’ feature has been added to the ios version. Now, its to big of a hassle to quickly add files from other apps to Proton Drive.
Keeps downloading forever… stuck or whatever
Every cloud storage provider has the option “save to drive” but this one does not. Do you have a file downloaded that you want to upload? Go to home, open proton drive, manually look for the file and then add it. Feels like a basic feature but its not there.
App logs me out constantly so my files become unavailable after short period of time not using the app. This is quite an issue when you are on the go and you need to open something quickly, but then you are asked to completely relogin, including hardware second factor. I cannot edit files in the cloud, any changes don't reach the cloud and I cannot force them to do so with manual refresh or even device reboot. "Make available offline" doesn't work either. Lately, the app started showing me "Multiple validation errors occured" for any action. It also shows squared "x" characters instead of file names. Trying to open anything in Files app results in "Content Unavailable" error. I would happily use this app if it could just work without errors.
Proton Drive is great except for this app. Its startup time is way too long and once it started it still reacts slowly. The spinner in top which causes the listing to move makes things even slower. Some bugs as well. Needs work, it's not up to Pronton's standard in the current version.
Ik zou graag zien dat document wijzigingen in bijvoorbeeld Pages, automatisch gesynchroniseerd worden bij het exemplaar ervan in ProtonDrive. Zoals iCloud van Apple. Nu moet ik telkens handmatig oude versies verwijderen en de nieuwe uploaden naar ProtonDrive. Misschien mis ik iets, maar met foto’s is het precies zo.
For now I use Evernote to forward emails, notes and even documents in the cloud, to able me to create an internal link to use this in agenda’s calendars and task-manager apps. So I can click in one of these apps on that back-link, which opens the specific note, email or document. (not via stupid icloud-sharing via email please, so 1999!) Please make it possible to create an internal back-link in this app which can be used in any app to open the info back-liked to.
