The new $27 dollar a month subscription is simply unacceptable.
Simplenote is an app with very limited function and usefulness. Nothing can justify almost three hundred dollars a year.

I love this app so much. Simple to use, great markdown function, most importantly it loads quickly compared to other notes app, sync across devices, and has a website version. 10/10. Really hope there can be a one time in-app donation of a smaller amount because I can’t afford to pay a lot but still wanna support the app :(
The simplicity of Simple Note is exactly what I need. I love that I can be logged into multiple devices. Easy to tag & organize.
Syncs on icloud, saves draft, simple interface, nice widget! Love it.
“The following data may be collected: USER CONTENT” So… They get to look at EVERY word you write. So much for privacy.
Simplest, and the best. Plus syncs across devices. I couldn’t live without it. Use it about 100 times today. I would rate it 100 stars if I could.
Why not let users choose how much they want to help? Instead of a fix amount a month or a year, let them type the amount from 1$ to 25$ a month! This way, you will get far more positive responses from users that can't match 25$/month... This is simple mathematics. In the meantime,I immediately exported all my notes and started using Joplin.
Only improvement I would like to see is to access more than one account; ability to move from one account to the other without logging out
A few suggestions I have are (note to the SimpleNote development team, I have MANY ideas like these, I’m just listing the first ones that come off of the top of my head) 1. the ability to search using multiple keywords (eg. “Ancient Rome, gladiator, Julius Caesar” bringing up *only* results which have these key terms) 2. the ability to automatically have backups scheduled and emailed or saved to iCloud in regular intervals (eg. every week, ever month, every quarter etc.) 3. the ability to encrypt specific notes and to export these individual notes, whilst remaining encrypted 4. the ability to password protect specific notes (with or without encryption, it doesn’t matter) 5. the ability to sort notes manually with the end user being able to place notes into position and lock them into an order which never changes
I really like this app! I knew about but never paid much attention to the “history” feature… until today. I accidentally ruined a paragraph in a note I’ve been working on. With just a quick flick of the history slider and I got all my text back. This is a great app, though I wish it had the ability to find text in just the current note (the perk around is to use the global search… not as much fun as one might think).
