The Athletic falls short on multiple fronts. Firstly, the quality of their articles is disappointingly weak, lacking in depth and substance. Secondly, their app is a frustrating mess, with usability issues and a lackluster user experience.
Furthermore, their policies and tracking practices leave much to be desired, invading users' privacy and raising concerns about data usage. It's hard to justify subscribing when you can get similar content on their free YouTube channel. In my opinion, The Athletic doesn't live up to its promises and isn't worth the investment.
Great writing, okay app
I’d like to see the time or my battery power while in-app. I have to exit the app to check the time? Really guys? What year is this? 2012?
I mean, this is the only place I can get the Athletties, so I’m staying. But I wouldn’t be based on app experience alone.
