Really rubbish app. It crashed everytime. I have reinstated it so many times I have lost count

Not quite sure why people are complaining about the app. I’ve never had negative experience with it- if anything it’s better than most other cruise line apps. Best guess is people have issues with wifi connectivity rather than the app itself.
It continues to say” difficulty connecting”- “send a report” unfortunately it never has.
I enjoy this app. But the last update has caused some problems. It keeps crashing and I can see my boarding pass but when I added it to my Apple wallet it keeps coming up with error but my wife can put hers in the Apple wallet no problem. I have logged into my wife’s phone with my account still the same problem so definitely not the phones. It’s the app this needs sorting out.
3rd time cruising with Virgin and I’m disappointed to see the App is as rubbish as ever. Really needs improving.
Slow, poorly optimised and just generally rubbish. Shame it lacks the polish of the rest of the Virgin Voyages offering.
Virgin charged my parents 5 times for the same transaction and then said they couldn’t refund to the card. Virgin then charged me 3 times, cancelled one payment but then lost the other so I have paid twice for my bar tab but only see one and because they’ve taken so long to sort the issue it’s now the day of the voyage and they say there’s nothing they can do. My bank sees the payments, virgin said they see the payment but there’s nothing they can do. I’ve spent about 5 hours on the phone to them and every person has a different answer. Including two different supervisors. Both my parents and I are paying for their errors. Totally abysmal. They all need sacking. Don’t want this to detract from my voyage as the ships are fantastic as is service on board. But the land crew are beyond a joke.. if they tried to mess up my bookings they wouldn’t be able to do it so spectacularly!!!
Oh my lord the problems we have had with the app and missing payments! And it seems the customer care team are incapable of sorting things out. We haven’t even boarded yet. It has been SO painful, we doubt we will ever go on another virgin cruise. VIRGIN SORT THIS MESS OUT!
Every time I use this app, my phone starts to overheat within minutes. At first, I thought it was just a fluke, but after multiple uses, it consistently causes my device to become extremely hot to the touch. I’ve tried closing other apps, clearing cache, and even restarting my phone, but the issue persists only with this app. Not only does this raise concerns about my phone’s long-term health, but it’s also uncomfortable to hold the device after using the app for a short period. While the app’s features are decent, this overheating issue makes it almost unusable for me. I hope the developers can fix this problem soon.
This app is seriously awful and so difficult to use. Firstly there’s the whole fuss of the app thinking you need to log in, and then realising you are logged in and have been for weeks. Then the game of the app not loading anything because it thinks you’re not on the ships WiFi…even though you are, and have been for a week. So after 4 full app restarts you can finally use it, and all it brings is frustration and disappointment. It’s full of bugs, it’s really clunky and difficult to use, the messaging feature doesn’t work, there no easy way to see what’s happening on the ship and what you have booked in the same place. There’s no ship deck plan so you have to resort to downloading your own PDF like it’s the 90s. When you find a venue on board that you like, can you see everything that’s going on at that venue? No. One massive negative is that the app destroys your battery whether it’s in the background or foreground, and turns your phone into a small grill. My iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18 was boiling hot when using the app and only a force close would bring down the temperature. The whole cruise is based around the app and it is simply not fit for purpose and really makes the entire experience difficult. Funnily enough, the only thing that actually seems to work is the bit that records your spending and tells you how much more money you owe Virgin, they made sure they got that bit right!
