Don’t use iCloud for file storage
Works ok and good for file management across platforms including Dropbox and google drive. I wouldn’t trust iCloud with files as a cloud storage, it’s so bad compared to the other options (one drive, Dropbox, google drive)
Someone accessed my phone and files were deleted. I managed to recover all my files in Dropbox and google but most of the iCloud files with images and documents were not recoverable even after contacting apple support. Folders were restored but they were all empty. Even worse if that iCloud was a paid subscription and I was using the free version for the other apps! Not fit for purpose.
Awesome
Great way to keep everything in one place & organised.
Barely works
Sometimes I can attach a file, sometimes I can’t. It’s useless.
Works… barely
If you try to manage lots of files or complicated pdf files, it will start slowing down or even crash. I really want it to work to manage my files stored on icloud but it is not reliable enough to be used professionally
Bug
Was working fine for months then suddenly everytime after i edit a file the app will turn black and wont save the progress. Had to re-edit my files multiple times. Tried everything from restarting my device, making sure software is updated, and the app is updated and it hasnt changed.
How is Apple bad at making apps for Apple?
The app works about 50% of the time for me these days. You can literally paste a document from one folder into another and it might decide not to, and there’s no reset, offload, or update that will fix it. I really expected better out of the guys who literally made the hardware for this app.
Edit: This last update has basically paralyzed the app, so I’m heading to ES File Explorer
Exceptionally lame
The files app and the iCloud Drive on the iPhone are completely incompatible. While in the files app it is impossible to search for a folder or a document residing on the iCloud Drive. This is less than unhelpful on a daily basis.
FILES
WHY WANT FILES SHOW ME MY RENCENTLY DELED FOLDER ANYMORE OR WHAT I JUST DELETED
Worst app ever
I try and delete some files, I go to my trash and select the files i’m deleting, and they get deleted, but when I refresh my files app and go back it’s back? It’s a constant loop and error I cannot delete files at all they keep coming back
Primitive file management capability
Does the bare minimum as a file managing application. Cannot work with windows products and show up on a pc to drag files over without shuffling your way through the backwaters of iCloud to just share a file or folder. Application has a recents tab that shows individual files but doesnt the folders recently visited so i have to go back to find a folder each time. It’s easier to tag a file and click on that to find them quicker than to rely on the recents tab. Why is there no option to have folders and files on my Home Screen, why do i have to jump in this app each time. Android and windows both have “add to Home Screen” functionality, why do i need to use a shortcuts app to create it.
