Good at first but after i deleted it still has control over my screen time and i dont know the pascode,
This app is amazing and it has helped me tremendously. The function of having to take a moment before mindlessly navigating between apps works wonders. The customization is what makes this app so good. Some apps I use too much so I can put more stringent rules for those, whereas others I barely use but still want to limit and those get lower barriers of entry. The trigger of showing a screen before opening an app that you're used to using all the time is outstanding. It world equally well at breaking an older habit and creating a new one. With this app I've been able to break the doomscrolling habits. Plus, the trigger has allowed me to start journaling each morning and evening since it just pops up in front of me; other journaling apps required me to open the app or turn on a notification so I never used them. I'd rate this 6 stars out of 5 if I could 🥳
Such a lovely app idea that does the trick. I am on social media SO MUCH less. Highly recommend for those wanting to be intentional about taking a pause before opening socials!! My one complaint is that it triggers even when I just switch from Insta to one app and then back two seconds later. Apparently if you have the paid version, there is an option for it to not do that, but I personally would recommend it even more if that were available to non-paying users. Thanks, One Sec!
This app has a been a total game changer. I use the free plan so I only use it for Instagram and it’s made me way less interested in opening the app whenever I’m bored or waiting around. Now, I really only open Instagram when I have something specific to do or I know that I have down time where I want to catch up on social media. I don’t spend my whole day thinking about Instagram anymore and there are even days when I don’t open the app at all. Obviously the best solution to overcoming social media addiction would be to delete the apps altogether, but that’s not necessarily realistic and one sec is the next best thing for me. I cannot recommend this app enough.
One sec does an amazing job of swatting my hand away from muscle-memory app opens. It is super annoying in a healthy-parenting kind of way 😅 There’s a bug with latest iOS. The screen time tracker no longer detects turning off my screen as “closing the app.” If I don’t navigate away before turning off screen, it will track multiple hours of being “in-app” when my phone is just sitting in my pocket. Help!
deleted after it kept randomly opening while i was on tiktok and then when i tried to reopen tiktok i had to do the waiting thing again. also all the good features are paywalled
I’m shocked at how just adding a forced pause before opening an app reduces my time on that app so much. The number of times I realize I don’t actually want to open the app but was just doing it out of habitual muscle memory is actually pretty wild. For me this app has been much more effective than seemingly more strict options that block apps or put time restrictions on them - because I just turn those off eventually and am back to square one. This one is easy to bypass by waiting a second if you truly want to. That pause is critical be able to consciously make the choice though.
I’ve been using this app for a few weeks and really like all the features they provide. I would easily give it 4-5 stars but recently I’ve run into a lot of bugs that cause the filters I have set to not work anymore. First it started with the instagram app, now none of filters for YouTube or Reddit work. I really hope the devs fix these bugs because the app has a lot of potential.
I can't edit or delete websites to the not-intervene list. I use one sec to block youtube cause I get stuck watching useless videos, but there are specific videos I use to handle anxiety attacks and anger and I can't have those delayed. I tryed to fix one of the links because it included a timestamp when I didn't intend for there to be one, but I can't delete the link with the timestamp (it just immediately reappears) or edit the link to remove the timestamp (tapping or holding the link does nothing), and adding the link without the timestamp it shows up on the list normally but the page still keeps getting blocked in safari. I have to turn the intervention off cause I only go to those videos when I'm actively panicking or raging and need the immediate help with emotional regulation, they can't be delayed. one sec worked really really good for me and saved a ton of time and stress until this feature broke so please fix it!!!
i did not expect this to actually reduce my screen time. but it did! it took some fiddling with settings to find what works for me, but the habit of checking my phone every spare second has literally been completely broken. there are moments where it annoys me or gets in the way, but i just pretend it’s the 2000s and i’m waiting on my desktop to load
