There is no way to prevent ChargePoint from “autoloading” money into your account and there’s no way to refund YOUR OWN MONEY BACK INTO YOUR OWN BANK ACCOUNT without deleting your ChargePoint account. Unfortunately my work place only has charge point chargers so I’m forced to use them - although I’m very tempted to delete my account and just stop altogether because I’m so enraged by ChargePoint’s autoload policy. It’s not your money to just take whenever you feel like. Create an option to load a user defined amount when funds drop below a limit AND create a way for the user to be reimbursed for money you’ve taken. I should not have to keep £25 in your account for a £3 charging session. With the cost of living and interest rates that’s money that I need and I’m losing interest on. And I shouldn’t have to completely delete my account to have my money returned to me. If this isn’t resolved I WILL make it my life’s mission to have you removed from my work site and bring in an ethical company in your place. Update following response: The charging isn’t the issue, your app and the way you take money is.

One of the reasons I wouldn’t bother with an EV An App that tries to force you into setting an account up. I had an EV as a courtesy car and tried to use a ChargePoint. Once it has you for an account it started to ‘Auto-top up’ from my credit card. After speaking to someone on the phone it’s the usual “I’m sorry Sir we can’t stop this” in an annoying and over apologetic way. Essentially making out I was stupid. The App is a data capture scam and they will freely take money from you once you set up. Tip one - Don’t buy EV Tip Two - Don’t use this App or Charge Point Zero Stars for this scammers App

I charged my car for £5.10, they withdrew £10 from my bank, then the next day they withdrew a further £10 for no apparent reason.

The App was working perfectly but now it’s broken and won’t even open the app anymore since it’s most recent update. I have no idea now how much credit is on my account or the status of the charge or cost. Great stuff 👍🏻

Good on the whole but have had a couple of issues re when my I-Phone 11 did a software upgrded and more recently when I upgraded the phone to the I-Phone 15. Also management of the pre payment could be better and given we pre pay the tariffs should be closer to the fees sites charge those with OVO or others!

Unusable - avoid

Used one of these charge points last week whilst away from home. There were 2 pods, 1 was available. I connected to this and used it for all of 4 minutes before it stopped, and I was unable to reconnect as it was incorrectly identifying the pod as still in use. ChargePoint have since taken £30 from my bank account in various instalments and I haven’t authorised this. I’m unable to have this refunded and can’t use it as there are no pod points near me. Had to delete my account as can’t trust that they won’t keep taking money.

I went to use the app at a Chargepoint in Otford Kent but the Jaguar F-Pace P400e PHEV is not listed, nor was the similarly specified Range Rover Velar PHEV so was unable, as far as I can see, to use the facility.

Driving around for 8 days to attempt to find a station. Finally get there and my main card breaks and won’t work without internet. Like how hard is it to just tap with a credit card?! Use my partner’s phone and get the password wrong and it locks me out of the account for 30 minutes. I’ve just waited an hour for this space to come available (because every station has half broken!) and now I still can’t charge up because of this useless app!

App just refuses to stay logged in and will not show charging network. Pretty useless at the moment. Tried wiping and re installed number of times to no avail. Will shortly have to give up with it and look for an alternative
