Worst files app in world hate it

Update broke file server

Since the latest IOS update my network drive linked in files has become readonly despite access rights not changing, this is an issue exclusive to my phone as all other devices with the same account access have full privileges as it should

Not intuitive

I don't see any photo files and I can't edit file names in an app that's called Files....

Still!

I had thought by iOS 18 that files would be excellent but apparently not. It is still fickle about what it will and won’t open and files stay after you have deleted them. It works a little but we should be better by now.

Avoid at all costs - absolutely terrible

After the latest update to iOS, I found that iCloud Drive began (automatically) duplicating folders and syncing across devices stopped working. I would delete the nonsense duplicated folders, only for them to return not long afterwards In greater numbers. At one point, the number of folders I had increased from around 20 to >900 folders. After spending 6+ hours on the phone to Apple, the very frustrating phone calls resulted in numerous important files being permanently deleted (not available in deleted files either). At one point, I watched very important files being deleted as I opened the folder they were stored in. The tech team were absolutely hopeless and only made the matter worse. Avoid this service at all costs!! If you are currently using, stop and opt for a better service before this happens to you. Apple charge premium prices but deliver very little in return.

Not working correctly

Over 60gb of data, when I’ve analysed and each folder, deleted lots of items videos ect. After checking, it’s still over 60gb! This is ridiculous and reminds me on iCloud having to change dates to bring up “ deleted Item” to re delete again.

File Kaos

Not a very good app. It's not user friendly, one needs to do at least 6 steps just to shift a file to another location in the app. It makes you run all over the screen for each task, just to complete one simple move. Can't group pictures in one hit to move it in as little as 2-3steps. Will be getting rid of it as soon as i have about 3hrs just transfer 180+ files to another app that is far more user friendly and far less steps. Not worth having on the phone , as a standard Apple App.

There’s a problem

So I put some pictures on there and whatever but even after i deleted them they still show if I write a word in the search bar when you swipe down on the Home Screen that was in that photo
