Hangs too often.

Robdownunder on

All too often the app starts by telling me it’s first going to log out, then shows a spinning “progress” icon indefinitely, needing the app to be restarted. Small changes, such as renaming a device seem to trigger a router reboot that interrupts everyone and occasionally takes 5 minutes for the wifi signal to return. It needs an option to do periodic reboots, since the network can go bad over time and require a reboot to clear the issue.

Needs more options

Reasonably reliable app that could use some more functionalities. Also, please add option to list connected devices by connection type, alphabetical, nodes, etc.

App limited functionality

Mike2nv on

I am a home network power user. Due to the how my house was designed (me and my parents live a duplex, so they’re right next door) we share our network with Ethernet backhaul with about 6 routers (all MX4200) and we have 3 on standby as extra nodes When the network freezes (which happens more often than not) we can only restart the main router through the app. The other routers have to be manually restarted from the Wall. I need a way in which all nodes attached to the networks are given the command to restart through the app Also, I need a way to force Ethernet backhaul and not connect wirelessly for each node as this can resolve many of the network freezing issues.

Almost Useless

This app can’t do the basics. It doesn’t know if it’s online or offline, doesn’t know if it has internet or not, doesn’t know how to reset the linksys routers. What’s the point of this app..I can clearly see the internet is down but this app continues to think it’s online. Plus, it continues to display devices connected when clearly there are none. Resetting the router from the app doesn’t do anything either. Every time I have to physically attend to the router and can’t troubleshoot away from home for the family. What’s the point..

Very Poor Service

Very Bad Chat on

We used the tri Velop system and were happy with it until they were hacked and cancelled all the codes. We have not been able to get back into our Velop system since. We tried their ‘chat’, but clearly they were not interested in Australian customers. Beware if you are in Australia.

Instant Regret

Wow Not Woe on

Hate this router and it's crappy companion app and I have had it out of the box for 30 minutes. I don't want a cloud account to set my router up. I don't want a cloud account to access Homekit settings. What I do want is an app that connects to the device using the router password, not one that tells me I am not connected to the internet WHEN I CLEARLY AM. Worst investment I have made in a VERY long time.

Has potential

Linksys has a good reputation when it comes to home networking. They provide a solution that is secure and can be setup with easy to follow instructions and includes feature rich applications. And they haven’t missed the mark with Velop or this application. However I will point out some issues I’m having for the developers to consider with future updates. I find the app a little chunky. By that I mean each page takes sometime to load and when back page is selected you are taken back to the dashboard rather than the menu page. This can be quite tedious if you are searching for a option that is hidden away in the vast option menu. Almost to many options are presented for the average user. I would recommend simplifying it somehow or presenting it differently in the UI. Something that would improve the UI would be the addition of a search feature in the menu page similar to that of spotlight search in apple setting menu allowing the user to search for an option and jump to that page once selected. This would resolve the issue I have with locating an option when there is so many options to choose from in the menu. I am running IOS 15.5 on iPhone 12 Pro Max and Latest version of Linksys app so I don’t think it’s an issue with either hardware or outdated software on my end. Looking forward to seeing improvements in the app regarding page load times and in menu UI. Thanks

Not great

Trying to get Device info but get the really (un) helpful message an unexpected error occurred. The send feedback link doesn’t work - just does nothing! Have factory reset. No feedback from Linksys. :(

Easy to use !

Easy to use and idiot-proof !

Not Very Good

Jerra of the Net on

Tried using this to configure a mesh network at home but simply did not work as it went into endless loops trying to connect to a perfectly good internet connection. Tried configuring three different pieces but dame thing happened. Waste of money buying it. In the end through it in the bin. Not recommended.
