Masterbuilt

Decided to give the Gravity Series a go after weighing it up for a while. Made up with the build quality of the BBQ. Shame I can’t say the same about the app. For the cost of these BBQs and a key selling point being able to remotely control your BBQ via the app, this part is extremely poor. To the point it has soured my overall experience and I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve had a new control unit and I can’t even connect it to the app. I seen someone reference it works 15-20% of the time, I’d say this is somewhat accurate. When it does work, it’s excellent. But I know it’s only a matter of time before it goes out of sync or won’t connect. I know the issues are not with my WiFi as all other devices have no issues and apps that are both 2.4GHz and 5GHz have no issues…just this one. On this experience alone I’d say to avoid buying a Masterbuilt BBQ - which is a huge shame given how good they are. If you’re buying one for the app feature…don’t bother. And if anyone from Masterbuilt is reading…get this reliability sorted!! It is letting down your product massively!

Useless app. Very disappointing. Connection loss all the time. Please improve this app as the smoker is fantastic.

Temperature control all over the place, will not swap from F to C and the prob was stuck on C. Pretty basic functions that just won’t work 🤦🏻

Nothing works anymore so now the BBQ is as good as a pit bin. Why destroy something that worked and now the app is cr4p. Poor app development

This new one has never worked with my 560. Keeps loosing connection, no temperature shows up, can’t swap the temperature units. Only way to see the temperatures is to delete the BBQ and re-add it. Even then, it still looses the temperature when my phone locks and I open up the app a bit later to see the progress. The Classic app worked perfectly, but Masterbuilt ordered me to use the new app only and delete the old one.

With the new app i can not send commands to the smoker -the old app worked fine but now has a stupid banner across it to use this one

This app is useless, keeps dropping the connection with the device. The legacy app was so much better.

App constantly crashes especially when the recipe section is opened.
