The gate “device” dropped off the app after one week, had to have the electrician come back and reprogram. Involved removing the front panel of the gate controller whilst still live, not something for the average untrained home user to do.
Everything is up to date before you ask, we have reliable internet access. Constantly get error messages, “not connected to server” etc. sick of this unreliable app. Avoid at all costs. & myQ help is worse than useless. Never a human to help
It just doesn’t remember that watch has been registered
Chamberlin have decided to remove third part support for applications like Home Assistant. I do not want to be forced to use their slow buggy app. I have always bought their products, but with my latest house purchase I will be buying from a competitor. Bad move Chamberlin! Bad move.
MyQ / Chamberlain decided to actively block access to 3rd party systems interfacing with garage door openers. That means I can’t integrate the product with my smart home. I assume this was motivated by desire for additional revenue at the expense of existing customers. You are now on my ‘do not buy’ list. Goodbye.
The invite process doesn’t work, this maybe limited to “sign in with apple”. My wife got the invite email, so I know the address is correct, but it doesn’t show in her myQ app (yes the email address is the same) At my end she doesn’t show as an invite or a user, so I can’t do anything to check/change it. If I try to invite her again it says I can’t because there is an invite pending. Keeps logging out of the Apple Watch app to the point that it is unusable. So far it seems myQ is all that is bad with home automation.
Tried on numerous devices- does not work, very frustrating. I have automated numerous gate systems and this has to be the worst possible app. Never again.
This app works on Apple but what lets it down is the lack of support for Apple CarPlay which baring in mind you can’t touch your phone i the car in the uk it makes sense to use Apple CarPlay. It’s what people want
Very flaky! Sometimes the server is down and you can’t login to open your door! Sometimes the app crashes and you can’t open the door. Usually it takes 2-5 minutes to login. Painful system! If your in a hurry just close your door manually.
It would be nice if worked with Google
