I have used this app since the beginning. It is getting worse. No need to discuss that it costs significantly more and is worse. My biggest problem is the bearing line and boat speed disappearing. It’s getting to the point that paper charts and dead reckoning are safer than the degrading technology imposed by Garmin. -Garmin has responded saying that (at speeds less than 1.5 knots this will occur. ) I have found lost bearing to occur often at a steady 3 knots regularly and sometimes it happens at 5 knots. I tend to slow down when near rocks and hazards and loosing a bearing line and speed is very dangerous then. Years ago with the same app and older phones this did not happen. For safety purposes I will be forced to find an alternative.
This app used to be way cheaper and affordable. First $15/yr. Then $25. Then $50. When is the insanity going to end? Finally had enough and stopped purchasing it. Today, the free sonarchart and nautical chart stopped working altogether. So you can’t even use the simple version to see what basic depth your marks are at. I was a customer for years, but until they reduce the price back below $25 they can kick rocks. They left a reply to try and justify their horrendous prices. F^%# Navionics. I hope they go under. $50 is robbery they are trash. NOT WORTH IT SAVE YOUR $$
On the free version many of the channel markers do not have their numbers shown. At least for rivers on the Eastern Shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Does the paid version show all channel marker numbers?
It’s really horrible to see your subscription jump over 300% over in a night. The “new features” and “updates maps” are why. You’re making great advertising for your consumers to go elsewhere. I was once a long dedicated fishing salesman that pushed your product. I’ll will be finding another product and helping all the anglers that come into the store to go elsewhere. Complete greed. Sad to see a once viable and great tool to help new anglers get into the game become a highly premium product for no reason, especially in a time where charts are becoming more and more public information.
I’ve been using this app on iPhones for about 5 years but over the past several months it has begun to lose heading/bearing data frequently. The heading vector gets stuck and the only way to fix it is to restart the phone. This is unnerving and dangerous when navigating tight areas. I can’t trust it anymore.
Been a while I know but Reduced logins to two devices? Single-handing I need more than that. Hopefully some competition will enter the space.
After I paid $50 for the US subscription this still show expired and cannot use app, it’s paid charge my card almost 30 days ago and still cannot use the app, this is a scam, already contact Apple for refund if not solved I will charged back with my credit card
This $50 app is now useless. I can login via my computer and have followed all of the steps listed on the support page to login with the app And none of these steps will allow me to login and use the app on my iPhone. Did they ever think that you may be fishing somewhere without cellular service? Garman has destroyed and otherwise great app. Good luck trying to get a refund. There is no live support. When I entered a comment in their support page, all I got was a message stating “we’re sorry we cannot respond directly”. Terrible trash! Much better options available. I will not be renewing my subscription.
I’ve been using this app for around 8 years. Like many others, I feel like the pricing is a problem being at around $50 a year. I haven’t personally noticed that much of an improvement to justify the cost. I know Garmin will say they think the pricing is fair but in my opinion the number of 1 star reviews is saying otherwise.
