Otter Transcribe Voice Notes

Otter used to be an easy to use AI to rewrite your input. Now it’s become something I can’t even use to do that basic function! I would cancel my membership if I had already paid for lifetime membership.

It’s an ok tool that will give bullet points and transcribe your conversations (somewhat) however it has a hard time distinguishing who is talking and the platform is very glitchy. Often times you will get clear audio of the conversation you don’t really need but will skip the parts of the conversation that are important and needing to hear. Very very unreliable and consistent. The platform itself needs a lot of work. For example I hit record for a meeting and it made the response as if it was recording for me to come back and see it recorded nothing. Missed the most important parts of the meeting and didn’t get the job done. If you are needing something entry level work or for fun and games then this is fine but if in important meetings and needing something dependable I would use something else. In the process of looking for something better cuz this app ain’t it.

I’ve had a Pro subscription for over two years at $99.99 and was happy to pay that price based on the value that I was receiving from the App. I was alerted that the subscription pricing would be increasing with my renewal in July from $99.99 to $129.99 a 30% increase. I thought it was an extremely high increase but renewed it because it has been extremely helpful and valuable to me as a user. Little did I know they would be taking away some of the benefits that I previously had as a Pro user. Today I received a notification from the app that I used up all of my transcription minutes of 1200 minutes for the month. Previously I was receiving 6,000 transcription minutes. In fairness, Otter had sent out an email alerting me of the pricing increase before the renewal of my subscription and laid out what benefits I would receive. My assumption on my part was that because I was paying the hefty 30% increase that my benefits would not only be the same as the previous two years but would be even better. I guess that’s on me but had I known that I wouldn’t have renewed as 1,200 minutes is not nearly enough for anyone that has multiple meetings 5 days a week. It would’ve been nice if Otter had explained what the changes were with a comparison of the old Pro subscription versus the new Pro subscription but obviously had they done that most of their loyal subscribers wouldn’t have renewed. Feeling duped and disappointed. Because if this change I definitely have lost trust in Otter and won’t be renewing my subscription next year.

Can't get help figuring out how to make "new line" command work even though the A.I. assistant chat keeps saying just to say "new line."

I have been using OTTR for almost 2 years and this month I “suddenly “ ran out of transcription minutes. Seems they have increased my subscription fee for OTTR Pro and reduced the amount of transcription minutes. Looking to cancel this and move to another service. Completely unscrupulous business practices

This app. Plus chat gpt has literally saved my life.!!!!! There is a God. I can feel the clouds parting and the trumpets sounding that I just might survive with some hair left in my head and a brain to match.. with this app ! BLESS YOU CREATORS!!!

Otter cannot auto tag or identify speakers in zoom or Teams. A confusing manual tag process is needed. So any meeting with new prospects will end up with unknown speakers in transcript or summary. And support system has so much circular logic that it’s impossible to get live help. Nice idea, but for Teams meetings with new players (ie prospects) useless app. Their bot response system asked for me to submit more data and urged me to update my review. The issue is Simple. This app and product are awful, and support is non existent. Ok guys, I have added a new paragraph updating my review. L

I am going in circles. I have paid for a year and don’t want the renewal to kick in so want to cancel that asap. Circles and more circles. As good as it is with recording , I would not waste my time . I have spent hours trying to cancel the renewal. And the password reset doesn’t work either.
