Raivo Authenticator

This app was sold to a company. And they've just released v1.5 adding paywall to every feature without a heads up rendering the app useless. You can't even add a new OTP token anymore, let alone exporting stuff to other app. Alternatives are 2fas and Ente. I'm using 2fas personally, similar aesthetic to Raivo and is able to use iCloud sync with no account required.

All my codes deleted after update that requires you to pay for import feature. Scummy behavior.

No reasons to trust this app anymore

Beware of the company

Garbage app. Trash. Useless. After they got bought, all my data got erased and I had to redo all my codes again for each account I had saved. Everything got wiped

A recent update wiped out all of my data. Fortunately I still had the master key and a backup file, but the app couldn’t even load the backup file. The app gives the error “Could not parse JSON”, but I was able to unzip the file on my laptop and the backup JSON is a valid JSON file. Prior to this I used the app for years and loved it. It’s open source and I really do appreciate the work the developers put in to it. However given the recent data loss I’m not sure I can recommend it. If you do use it, make sure to save your master key and take regular backups. Fortunately the back up file is just a zip file with a JSON file in it. You can just pull the secrets from the JSON file to import your keys in to a different app.

I lost all my data. Absolute failure of a product and company.

Locked data and lost everything

Lost all keys after updating app. Sent an emailed but delivery failed. No way to recover keys.

You would be foolish to ever use this app. No longer open source. All of my OTP codes were deleted with newest update. AVOID.
