I do love this app - have used it daily since downloading. It’s a shame that I can’t add saved classes to my personal lists, submit projects or write reviews in the app itself. To do any of these things I have to switch back to the website. Apart from this it’s excellent!
I started a challenge of going without YouTube for a week and ended up extending it to a month thanks to SkillShare. The problem with YouTue is that it seems to know more about you than you do yourself and you easily get distracted by recommendations (even when you disable tracking). Here there’s no distractions: you learn! It’s great! I learned filmmaking, video editing, visual effects and VFX in a week of being confined!
Haven’t even been able to use the app, I’ve made an account by linking my google account but fails to log in every time. I had one successful log in when I first made my account but then it logged me out and I haven’t been able to get back since. I deleted the app multiple, tried signing in again but won’t let me. I wanted to make another account but still, it will not allow me to do this. Every time I click sign in it pops up with ‘Skillshare wants to use Skillshare.com to sign in’ I click continue, the sign in pops up for a nano second and then disappears. I cannot sign in, I cannot make another account, I can’t try a free trail. Really disappointed, I want to learn and utilise this app! I am going to reach out to the customer service and see what they can do.
Billed me one year after free trial with no notice despite me not using the website for 12 months. Does not show as a direct debit so cannot be managed either.
Tried to download classes to watch offline, but this feature is broken. It is stuck for each download attempt at 13 bytes of after the first class… Generally the app is full of bugs that are both functionality and UI related.
Excellent app has given me the confidence to chase my passions.
It’s a good app, but for some reason, sometimes some courses just DO NOT want to let you download them fully. It’s the weirdest thing, like maybe 40% of the videos will download fine but then some will just error out and no amount of deleting and attempting to re-download seems to help. Even uninstalling the app and reinstalling a bunch of times seems to make no difference 🥲

On here they are 4.8 stars but on Trustpilot they have an overall 1 star review? Just make sure you shop around before signing up as the whole subscription thing seems like a scammy process. I used Skillshare for a year then cancelled my subscription as I didn’t use it enough. There was some useful courses on the site but not something to go to everyday and make it worth while. I wasn’t keen on the ‘special offer price’ they provided. Going though the website would actually cost more than going through the app. I contacted customer service and they said that is just how it is - even though you are using the same log in and platform. Never went back to using it after that as something wasn’t adding up. It has potential considering there are individuals sharing their skills but the company itself - not for me thanks
A great benefit of Skillshare is its ability to connect with other users and discuss material. You can even create your own projects based on the courses.
