Skillshare: Creativity Classes

I tried the free trial, and afterwards they automatically charged me for a yearly subscription. I got the email I was charged the 23rd, I contacted them immediately demanding a refund. Saying I was a student and couldn’t afford the 250$ for a yearly subscription. And I never wanted a 1 year subscription I just wanted to to try the free trial. I contacted them twice and they say that it’s their policy, once the free trial ends, that’s it, they got you. Very concerning and very disappointing. Just be very careful if your trying the free trial, they will charge you without warning. I don’t usually write reviews in general, but 250$ for a student is a lot of money. I was very surprised and disappointed as mentioned before.

I was just trying out the free 1 week trial never would I have tried it if I knew I would have to pay for an intire year! This is highly predatory and I am very upset at this practice. I’ll be sure not to recommend this platform to anyone I know. No message was even sent to me to notify that a plan was even purchased until I look at my spending that is not cool at all

I enjoy watching the lessons that are created on this platform (which I can access on my computer) but the app will not let me login on my phone 😩 There is always an error code.

Whole business is based on you forgetting your trial and them overcharging you for awful courses

How do you change the profile picture in the edit profile setting? I would like to change my profile picture.

This app is super flakey. When I try browsing, it won’t “hold: my position, just keeps going back to the beginning. The search filters are also not clean, it insists on giving me digital classes which I’m not interested in.

They will charge automatically. No notice. They won’t refund you because you went through their trial. Worst company ever.

This is a wonderful place to learn a large variety of things for a cheap price. They have a wide variety and really good teachers. It’s great if you like to go at your own pace as well. So far I’ve learned 3D sculpting on nomad and how to use clip studio as well as a bunch of other arts related classes. So go for it and happy learning!

Love this app I learned so many things easily. ITS fun and I développed skills that I did not know I had.

While it’s a one-stop-shop for many different artistic paths, Skillshare and the app fumble their two main objectives: skills and sharing. Rather than sharing the skills and methodology to create something, the service heavily favours classes that are this-is-how-I-created-that videos using very specific tools (and in the realm of web art, with specific tools/brush sets/whatever made for just that class’ project). The project galleries are full of creations where people either copied the project exactly, or struggled to make it their own. And when it comes to the sharing — this is a web-focused service with a mediocre at best app that frequently pushes you to the full website version to get all functions and features. Which doesn’t at all mesh with the follow-along approach of the teachers, especially when the projects are digital.
