Why only 1 ticket per device?

RTRichardson on

The app seems great for buying tickets but it’s almost useless since it allows only one ticket per device.

Bad UX design. Can’t use.

Don’t upgrade if you need your tickets!!

Mike Mistry on

When you upgrade to the latest version you lose your current tickets and have to request a transfer and wait for approval!! What?!? Don’t upgrade if you need to use your tickets urgently! The upgrade says “improve user quality of life”: sorry but not being able to take a bus (with tickets I have paid for) is not improving my quality of life!!

Perfect for travel around city

ChelseaZenFan on

We were in Edinburgh for 4 days, this was perfect! Paid for a Family Day pass, actually paid for 2 at a time as you have to spend at least 10 GBP each purchase. The pass was 8.75 and gave access to the buses and trams for 24 hours for 2 adults and 2 children, we are 2 adults and one 15 year old (who counts as a child) so this was the best “getting around” option. Just showed the app screen to driver or the porter asking for tickets.

will throw out unexpired tickets

I2403978 on

Nominally 4 star performance, but ocassionally (twice this year that i’ve noticed) it will expire a whole bunch of your tickets without reason, even if only a few weeks old. I managed to catch this twice, but it might have happened more often. Just happened again even after warning the supplier earlier in the year about this, so 2 stars for no interest shown in fixing the problem, and trying to confiscate at least several 10s of pounds.

Highly recommended

Very happy with the mTicket and the accompanying Bus & Tram app. Creating an account, buying tickets and using the m-ticket on the bus is super easy.

Great if your in town more than 4 days

Gelina4444 on

The app is so very easy to use, never worry you don't have exact change. Between this and the bus route app they are a great pair. The only down side is you have to purchase a min £10 which is 7 individual tickets or 3 day passes. There is an option to share tickets (each person would need their own phones) so maybe you can get one person to buy and then you could hit the minimum.

Extremely easy to purchase tickets

Fire_Fighter_Izzy on

My family and I went to Edinburgh on holiday and used the bus system to get around town. Our previous experience with bus systems in big cities was our trip to Dublin and that was kind of chaotic. I was very impressed on how easy it was to get on and off the bus and buy tickets with this app. We simply purchased five family day passes with the app and it loads right up for us to use. It puts all the tickets in your "available" section and as you need to use them, you activate one ticket at a time per day and it expires at 4 AM I believe. All you have to do is hold your phone up to the bus driver and he lets you on, it's that easy. I would highly recommend this app to help you get around Edinburgh, along with the Bus & Tram app, which will help you plan your bus and tram routes to get you to where you need to go in Edinburgh.

Won't respond to email

I needed customer support but the company did not respond to my question.

Close, with fatal flaws...

SkyJK on

I would love to say that this app is great. It would be a handy way to pay, has a pretty nice interface, etc.. But, it is not self evident how certain things work. Which can cause you to waste meaningful amounts of money. This is all due to poor information and unnecessary inflexibilities. For example; I purchased three tickets, clicked share, entered my son's email, expected to then enter my wife's, but it was now too late. They now belonged to my son's phone. For some reason he wasn't allowed to share them, I couldn't undo the share, and we weren't allowed to use both tickets from the same phone (why?). Lastly, perhaps we could eat the cost of one ticket, and purchase one on my wife's phone, but there's a minimum £10 per purchase. ...and of course there's no way to purchase them on the bus without cash, so if you are leaving the country you are essentially screwed. I'm hoping to get a refund through customer service, but we'll see...
