Can you imagine that you pay the service fee to Turo to rent a car, and you paid to buy the insurance, and when you claim the insurance, they will also charge you an admin fee which is expensive, this turns out I give up to claim it and I paid $500 by myself for a small scratch.

I recently heard from my cousin that she rented her last car in Florida through Turo. Intrigued, I decided to download the app the next day to explore it in preparation for a future trip. As I often do with new apps, I reviewed the ratings, starting with the most critical ones. To my surprise, there were numerous recent negative reviews from both hosts and customers. One major concern is that, being a peer-to-peer rental platform, Turo doesn’t allow you to use the insurance coverage provided by your credit card. Additionally, several customers reported that hosts frequently charge unexpected fees after the rental, which are automatically billed to the customer. Many reviewers noted that Turo often sides with the hosts in disputes, leaving customers to fight for resolutions. I’ve always rented from traditional car rental companies and never encountered such issues. While they may be more expensive, the peace of mind and reliability they offer seem worth the extra cost. Based on these reviews, Turo’s potential savings don’t seem to justify the risk of added complications. Unfortunately, this feels like another situation where it’s not a question of if but when you’ll face an issue. For now, I’m deleting the app without trying it. I hope Turo addresses these concerns, as the concept of a reliable peer-to-peer car rental platform, akin to Airbnb or Uber, has great potential.

Turo is trying to scam us and get money from us for a car problem. Never rent from Turo.

J’ai loué un tesla sur lequel j’ai fait une petite égratignure sur le rim, probablement au parking. Je veux régler à l’amiable avec l’hôte ÈVE Rentals Montréal. L’hôte ne veux pas régler directement avec moi, donc c’est TURO qui va envoyer un évaluateur $$$ (payé par moi) et après je devrai payer la réparation qui sera étonnamment élevé $$$. En conclusion, mon voyage de 3 jour va me coûter plus cher que avoir pris l’avion.

Overall reliable smooth customer support is good. Not sure about the insurance as I have not used before. Free cancellation and pay later is a great facility

This app is so easy to use. Communicating with hosts is a breeze. I have had an awesome experience so far using Turo!
