UniFi Protect
Works well, I’ve never had issues with viewing my cameras.
App constantly crashes
The app constantly crashes. So many bugs - 1gbps network and it’s slow as hell.
Used to be a better app
The app no longer allows me to scroll video on time. This is a key functionality that just doesn’t work anymore. Multiple updates and still this issue is not fixed. When the doorbell is rung, it struggles to get the right camera loaded and most times I can only click to talk once. Turning the phone landscape shows the camera with a lost power message. The app used to work a lot better.
Constant crashes
Really crap app. Constantly crashes. Wtf ubnt....
Regressing
Very little progress. No configurable views. Poor quality assurance. Tap to zoom has regressed since last release. Controller and app are both unstable. Major authentication outage recently. Update Nov 2020 Using this app is super frustrating. Especially after a security incident. Scrolling through footage is unreliable with the real-time view snapping back to the past, or with the app reconnecting loosing the place in time altogether. The exported clip doesn’t match the time selected. Footage is easily corrupted. The app re-authenticates frequently slowing the open of the app. This is especially frustrating when tapping an even notification. Many of these bugs make this unsuitable for real world use. I feel that Ubiquiti are putting too much effort into new hardware neglecting software and their large customer base.
Going backwards
This app is crashing more and more as the days go by.
