No very good

Should be a very good system but after 2 months of good service the camera stopped working. Rebooted and was OK for a couple of weeks then same problem. When we needed it during a long vacation it failed yet again and has not worked since our return!

Apple TV app

Update 2024/12: Awesome update for TV but one glitch. The ability to open single camera as full screen seems to fail after vieweing for a while. Otherwise thank you. PS: If you can make smaller granular scrolling when going through historic footage that would be good. And rapid scrolling after a few scrolls like it is. — Original 2024/01: Since new protect v4 the Apple TV app does not support 265 and it’s missing so many features. Screen splitting options. Fitting 12 cams on a screen without the massive headline at the top which is a waste of space. Better scrubbing of timeline. Also after 10 cams the system shows a lot of artefacts in the stream. So very high compression that is not fixable on the Apple TV app.

Great app and service - one request please

Long time user of the UniFi Protect, always there and very reliable. One favour though please, can you please add the option to give a unique notification sound to the App. So I know the alert is from Protect not one of the many other apps I use. Thank you and a Merry Christmas

Dev’s broke it

Puppington on

This was a great app until it was updated and now you constantly need to enter the 2FA at really inconvenient times. During an emergency or detection alarm you want to quickly check a camera but now there is a random, but guaranteed badly timed additional step of having to check your 2FA app if you actually have the Yubi key with you or request an email. Kills the use case if detections to the app. You may as well go and check what happened in person or use web console which doesn’t request 2FA. If the app is the only available option you are left wondering what was detected. I understand the need for security but over zealous dev’s have made the app pointless.

Possibly a great product…

Seems to be a really good system but let’s itself down with little or no guidance notes or easy to follow instructions that can be followed by the domestic user. I’ve slowly got the system up and running but still have basic requirements which I know the system is easily capable of but no instructions or intuitive UI to be able to do it.

Full-screen view is unstable

DL4S on

United Kingdom

Latest update destroys persistent full-screen viewing on iPad. Viewing a camera used to allow a persistent selection of full-screen, or shrunk with scrolling of timeline. Now, full-screen has to be selected each time ANY camera is selected, as if someone in the dev team thought that we’d finally drop the desire to view full-screen if it was made hard enough. Come on! This is seriously regressive.

Still in need of “Select All” option.

SouthCoastBenji on

Lots of updates since setting up the system, but still no “Select All” button to allow us to delete multiple detections. Incredibly frustrating when you have a lot of detections to delete, even more so when they don’t delete first time, and you have to repeat selecting them all individually over and over till they eventually get deleted. Honestly don’t understand why there is no “Select All” button?! … Downgraded to 2 Stars until this is resolved. Such a small change, but has such a big impact in using the App. *** Update 22nd Aug 2024 … More and more updates, but STILL no “Select All” option. Downgraded to 1 Star. It’s amazing how just a single issue, can ruin an entire App.
