Wally: Smart Personal Finance

Support is completely unresponsive chat. GPT is also unresponsive and lags out the whole app doesn’t work and I paid for it for nothing. I can’t getting contact with anyone

The app has resulted in my bank account being frozen almost every other day due to being flagged as an fraudulent login attempt. I closed my account and Wally still has not deleted my banking details so continuing to attempt to gather personal banking and transaction data from me despite a request for my banking details to be deleted. When these concerns were raised in developer support they said they will look into it and I’ve received no follow up, support or help. I’ve reached out a couple of times since but met with radio silence. Do not trust these people with your data.

Stuck with it diligently for years thinking they will fix the lingering issues in the coming updates. But every couple of years they absolutely demolishes all the basic functionality and bring about meaningless features. The latest is the GPT. NOT NEEDED. Now all the old records are messed up, cannot check incomes, duplicate records, other years saving records gone, cannot add simple manual entries without 20 clicks. Sigh…. I gave up. Found another simple app that does all the basic things even in the free version. Provided feedback to this bunch many times. They replied as if i’m the problem using the app. Loved the free wally version

When I first started using the app it had many functions, budgeting goals, clear interface. Although tracking expenses is time consuming, Wally made it easy. I paid for a premium subscription because I figured it was a worthy investment. But as each update has come it has become less and less straightforward. Budgeting has been removed. Things are in unhelpful places and it’s just overall not useful. Previously I would have given a 4-star however now it is a 1-star to reflect this current version & its decline in value.

This app is fairly good for budgeting and tracking expenses. However, I found duplicate transactions blowing up my expenses and it doesn’t give me options to edit or even delete the duplicates. Hope this bug can be fixed.

I used to love this app - I stoped using it as they didn’t support my bank. Now the site and the App Store page display bank Australia as one of the banks however this isn’t in the app. I’ve tried contacting support to ask for help every witch way and no response… Recently I was sent an email explaining that I could get gold for free if I connect my bank account whitch I obviously can not do and once more support have never gotten back to me.

Got an email (in my junk box) supposedly from the CEO and Cofounder. States since I signed up in 2013 and am an existing user I get set up by Jan 1st and Wally Gold is enabled free for lifetime and if I sign up between Jan 2nd and 31st it’s a year free. Went to try it and turns out for the free lifetime gold to happen a bank account needs to be connected mandatorily. Can’t get the gold free for life as an existing user “just by setting up” as mentioned in the email. Setting up means connecting bank accounts or you’re no good as a user as no data can be mined. No wonder in spite of being a good concept this hasn’t taken off. Shady, non transparent communications and practices. Deleted app right away.

Hi Wally, i had high faith in what could’ve been the one solution to my expense tracking however was brutally let down. i tried to join my bank with no avail (given it was the only way i could ‘complete signing up’) and then had to delete and reinstall. this apparently COMPLETED the sign up and therefore was not eligible for Wally Gold?????? It also said it had trouble trying to connect my bank and basically ran into error every time. Stop giving people a broken service and promises you can’t keep 😡😡
