Fun way to keep motivated

Lulul 97 on

I enjoy listening to this whilst running, the stories are engaging and fun. Also a bonus you can listen to your own music.

Good when it doesn’t crash

TrippingWhippet on

United Kingdom

The current version has crashed at least 50% of my last runs, probably more. Seems to be right as you unlock the phone to hit stop and record the run. I’m still using it but getting tedious now.

Great incentive for me to move more

I love the storyline for this app and The Walk. Helps me to motivate myself to move more. Great idea. Thanks

Great app, shame about price

MollyGre on

I love this app and the story has made me really enjoy running. The training seems to really work too as I feel much fitter. BUT I wish it had been clearer from the start that I’d have to pay a subscription to unlock runs after week 3!

I guess I like jogging now?

Angelica lukauskas on

United Kingdom

I’ve never enjoyed or seen the point in even going for a walk let alone going for a run. I’ve always considered it to be dull, unnecessary, and pointless if there isn’t a destination. But this app has actually made me really look forward to going for a run. I’m not genuinely disappointed about my rest day and I honestly never in my wildest dreams thought I’d say I like running but I here I am and I really do. The story is so interesting, the progress is really well paced, and the extra features like the gps map it draws of your run and everything else are just great and so much fun. I can’t wait to get the training finished so I can move onto the main app and start building up the base.

Running made fun!

I love the story and find this much more inspiring than the usual couch to 5k. I’ve just finished week 1 and though usually a reluctant jogger I find that I am really looking forward to my Zombie run each day. Absolutely brilliant concept.

Audio glitches spoil an excellent programme

Sladey66 on

United Kingdom

I was really enjoying this until about halfway through week 2 when the audio cues got messed up and started playing in the wrong order. Shame really

Glitchy

Bushi on

United Kingdom

I was really enjoying this up until week 3. Then the audio became very glitchy and started off halfway through the run. Also on parts through week two the audio would drop out for large parts of the run and then come in all at once. I’ve upgraded the subscription to see if week 4 was any different but it’s not. A great pity as was enjoying the app and feeling motivated to continue. I like the variety and the story. If they fix the app I’d happily give 5 stars as it’s great for what it is. With glitchy audio though, I could give any higher that 2 really. A shame.

I was really enjoying this app...

Chettlo on

However, I’ve just started week 3 and the time announcements are really off putting. It might not seem like a big deal, but when you’re trying to keep pushing yourself to keep running, having, i.e.,every 15 seconds of a 1-minute drill and 2 minutes into an 8-minute free run announced means you lose focus. The hardest part of a run is the middle and when you’re told you haven’t even passed the quarter-way-through mark it’s really tough, mentally, to push through to the end. Please add in options for when the time is announced!

Good but..

Tomsmum on

I have done couch to 5kms before and decided this would be more fun, interesting and it is! It does however jump in time quite a bit from week 2 to 3 (and again later) also the freedom run is a bit unstructured for real beginners, really you need more drills for more weeks until you know how and when to walk/run
