Solid if your out of the country

Since I travelled out of the US, this has save me money to call home. The quality is literally 2nd to none considering I also have T-Mobile roaming and it’s really bad.

Use to be descent service

In the past I never had issues. As of late the app just doesn’t function correctly. Can not send messages anymore. The app is now requiring me to have location services on while using the app. Supposedly for security purposes. Will be looking at other options to possibly switch to.

Lot of unwanted calls

The phone app and service is good . But I get 5 to 6 calls from unknown numbers though the magic phone number is available to me and my wife only and we have not shared the number with anybody else. It’s really annoying to receive lot of such calls including marketing calls. There is an option to block up to 98 number . But I am about to reach the limit as the calls comes from different numbers I wanted the phone for personal limited use only. Not sure why the company is sharing the phone number outside though we are paying for the service .

I’ve been using MJ for a while now and I loved it trust me but my only problem is not able to attach photos . please do something about that for us too

Can’t renew service

I’ve had Magicjack for many years. Now I’m unable to add a credit card to renew service. I keep getting an error “Unable to add credit card”. I’ve tried multiple (7) cards without success. Customer service is completely unhelpful. They are super unresponsive. Other than trying to renew through the broken website, there is no other way to renew. Now I’m about to loose the number I’ve been using for years that most of my contacts have. Terrible.

Outdated, 19th century style

While the app works sometimes to receive and make voice calls, it fails as a text service provider, contrary to claims that you can receive text messages. Your friends messages might go through, however if you’re expecting a message from a business, forget it. Most businesses (esp. the ones using the short 6-digit numbers) assume you have a cell number and whether you like it or not, they want to push a text-like message not a voice calls, and that’s where this app fails. The other is not allowing you to silence incoming calls on your phone when you mute it in a meeting or at any environment you want it quiet.

Getting worse

1st thing is that after each update my mic stops working even though it’s showing on . that goes on for weeks unable to make outgoing calls until finally it’ll just start working again . 2nd thing is why after 12 years do you suddenly need my location who are you selling our information to now? It’s not just to meta this time there’s someone else. Data mining companies?
