Abandonment issues
Thanks for planned obsolescence!
Harvesting data just to use a kitchen appliance
Hard to know if this is an app to help you operate a kitchen appliance or a scam to harvest your personal information and sell it. I will never be buying another Anova or Electrolux product. Data mining companies masquerading as home appliances.
Stay away
Greedy guys charging for what should have been, and was, free. No benefit in buying Anova over the competition any longer.
Switched to a subscription app model
This app was once free and a great resource with the product you paid for - since 2024 it is now a subscription based app and that is abhorrent. I would advise buying a sous vide from a different company.
Removed connectivity for my functional unit.
Company used software to prevent my original cooker from connecting to the app. Then offered 50% of an upgraded unit. I upgraded, but not very happy that a perfectly functioning unit had its usability diminished to pressure people into buying an upgraded unit. Very questionable business operating model.
Can no longer access recipes without a subscription
Do not use this app, they have added a subscription wall. I would suggest the joule app, and use the manual controls, or just use google, this subscription model must be stopped. Do not let them sell your data
False advertising
Was promised that if the app was installed before 21/08 that there would be no charge for the app. After several emails this has still not been resolved.
Stopping support for Precision
Disappointing to learn that they are stopping app support for the original precision cooker. My precision has a broken temp wheel which means that I won’t be able to use it any longer. They have offered an upgrade discount but even with the discount it’s still very expensive. There should be no reason to cease support for the older units - feels like a money grab forcing people to buy a new unit. Will be purchasing the cheaper inkbird unit.
What a stupid decision
This type of app should not be a subscription. It wasn’t one, and worked flawlessly. It’s a money grab by a greedy company, but another brand of Sous Vide, I know I will next time
