It is a bit misleading to ask me to create an account and verify THEN you let me know that I have to subscribe to use your app…. if i knew there is no free version I would not have downloaded it.. Why is it available for downloading without charge when you are going to charge anyways? Now my email and my personal information is in your system pointlessly and I am not happy about it
I’ve been a customer for a very, very long time. Long before you could see the privacy levels of an app. Randomly today I thought I’d check Fantastical’s level of privacy. I was saddened to discover that they’ve been tracking us all along, it’s disheartening to say the least.
Given the features in the app, this is not worth the very high subscription price for most people. A once off purchase of $10-15AUD would be appropriate, perhaps with optional paid major version upgrades.
I’ve deleted your app and it refuses to move from my Home Screen. What is going on?
I haven’t used or needed a few premium feature in years. I feel like I’m paying for random ideas. I’ve dropped the subscription and miss a few premium features like calendar sets and the month view. Writing that down, feels ridiculous to pay $80+ a year for those two things. It was a good ride, but I’ve never been happy with Fantastical 3. The redesign reduced data density and increased overall noise in the layout. It’s just not well designed in a lot of parts for scanning your appointments. I’ll really miss the menu bar app on the Mac, but widgets do 50% of the work to replace it. Hopefully they change course with the overpriced subscription for features users don’t need or want.
Just wish the Apple Watch experience was better than it is. Otherwise, it’s a great calendar and scheduling app.
Fantastical is my favourite calendar app, having tried so many! It can pull in all of my calendars (google, outlook, apple, etc) and I can seamlessly integrate with Apple Reminders so that I can schedule in my to-do items and choose how long I want them to take [60m] for example. Great! Very happy.
I like the app. It looks nice. The interface is nice to use. But I don’t open it very often. Maybe that’s the issue - because I don’t open it very often when I do, every time I do, I get prompted to subscribe to the premium version. I’m very happy you have a premium version, but I don’t need any of the paid features. So, please stop promoting me what feels like every time I use the app to subscribe. Just tone it down a little - twice a week? Once a week?
There was no mention of how much this app was going to cost me. I downloaded and signed up and then it asked me to pay up to get my free trial. I have no idea how much you are charging and until I can see the price before I sign up I am not going to complete the sign in just you can charge me whatever it is you are charging.
Have been using Fantastical for many years, it’s a really great app, and made an outright purchase before the subscription plans started a couple of years back. I then paid for the subscription, but now after two successive price increases of 40-50% this is now simply unaffordable and I don’t derive enough value from it to justify the price, so will be downgrading to the free app and see how I go. I’ve never found background updating of my calendars to work, which is absolute basic table stakes that I would expect for a paid subscription. I’ll be shopping around for a more affordable alternative.
