I have been using Fantastical Calendar for more than a year now consistently. It’s an very helpful sidekick. At any given moment I’m at least running 33 calendars from different accounts, different countries, different timezones, yet everything always work when it is supposed to and the way it is supposed to. The recent addition of Live Activities was a big update for me personally and it got me prepared for next events sooner as I had a visual countdown reminder on my Lock Screen. Great job on that. The only area I feel where I experience a bit of unnecessary manual input (I feel it should happen automatically) is when I have to sync my Fantastical calendar on Apple Watch. I manually need to click on the app complication to enter the app, make sure the app is open in my phone so that they may sync. In my line of work, I have to keep updating events regularly and add or remove them quite regularly too depending on the situation. To combat this, I was hoping the Apple Watch app, iPhone app and iPad app would check for changes across all devices and keep the data from the device that was used to change an event (iPad included) or try to sync across all devices automatically but more aggressively or more frequently. That’s my only complaint. Apart from that. It’s been a great experience and I’m looking forward to the new updates that the team brings. Thanks for all the bug fixes too. Great job Dev team. 🫡

Good Things: - App UI is easy to use - Like graphical view watch complication - Calendar accounts (outlook, iCloud) can be directly added. - High level of customisation - Task and schedules are available at one place Concerns: - App was already highly priced when I subscribed a year back in 2022. Now the yearly subscription cost is doubled (~₹6k). This is heavily priced, hence can’t continue with subscription.

Really surprised that the app does not have live activities and dynamic island support. On scrolling through their Twitter support - found that they have no plans to upgrade the app for the same. This could have been a great app!

While the app has some good features like natural language recognition and making multiple calendar sets… some of the basic thing sin Sync are not as good as the stock apps. This annoys me a lot. After constantly reaching out to the support teams I have only been given reasons and excuses not any solution. I use iCloud reminders as my default set. When I complete a reminder from my iPhone it syncs on my Mac immediately. However, the other way round its sort of a chance. It may clear in 15 min or won’t clear till I open the app and check myself. This creates confusion as there are multiple pending tasks… The stock calendar/reminder app manage this much quicker. Also, if I make any changes to a calendar set on my iPhone or mac the other devices do not immediately reflect the changes… I simply don’t understand why when This is a Fantastical app feature. I regret paying the full years subscription fee. Even with priority support I have not been satisfied with resolving my problems.

Such a beautiful calendar app, never disappointed me.

I paid for fantastical several times But now after they moved to subscription model , I lost my old features. Usually when developers move to a subscription model , previous users retain their old features .

Fantastical is fantastic in it’s UI and functionality. The first thing I like is, you can search for events in your calendar which has been integrated into Fantastical which are 10 years old. iOS native or any other calendar apps, which I tested won’t go beyond months of search history. Coming to the User interface, You can view the calendar month wise, Day wise and still see the list of events on a tandem view, which is best in class. The iPad view is still more superior and iPhone’s view is not any way inferior too. Both OS widgets are the biggest in class. This is the only widget which displays the calendar & events . Definitely worth the price for people who use calendar a lot for managing events or write biographies, journals etc.

It's a really good app since I enjoyed a lot from the beginning but it looks like fantastical has make it very expensive with its subscription services.

They had a very good app on all platforms with lifetime separate payments for each platform. App was good and worth the money. Then they decide to not honour the lifetime paid app. So now you have crippled app with even basic features missing, which you can only have if you subscribe, even if you had a lifetime paid app. All this in the guise of an upgrade that makes it poorer and more complex and buggy then it used to be. Flexbit needs to wake up and think again. You are killing a superstar product. To all the new users, the product is more than okay, may be good, even after the buggy upgrade. But the developer CAN NOT be trusted. Stay away.
