Rarely can I get excited by apps but Fantastical is well thought out, has simple intuitive yet deep functionality and frankly is what Apple themselves should have written. I use the macOS version and this iOS app. Both excellent. I’d use it just for the calendar alone but the integration with Apple Reminders is the clincher. Only negative are the childish app icons - they don’t matter of course but an app this good deserves a better shop window. Keep up the good work guys.

If I could rate zero stars I would. Very misleading app. It makes out it’s free but you try and load it and it wants to charge you. No thanks I will stick with the factory calendar.

The app itself is pretty good, but the subscription is just not worth the money when the Mac version is worthless to me.

This is no ordinary calendar app - this is, quite frankly, a life changing tool that will turn you into the sort of morally superior, organisation guru you’ve always dreamed of being. As a chronically late, forgetful and naturally disorganised person I used to tackle these issues by spending a lot of time synching up my outlook, google and Apple calendars and keeping separate task and reminders lists only for the connection to periodically break and find I’d totally forgotten about the appointment that wasn’t in my calendar that I was now 15 minutes late to (so far!). Now, I have a dream system. I put EVERYTHING in my fantastical app (which is literally on all my devices) and all my other calendars just drop in perfectly. My Apple reminders are in there. My google tasks! It’s colour coded by work and personal, and, the piece de resistance- the Apple Watch widget- sits gloriously on my wrist, gently reminding me when it’s time to leave for my next appointment and singlehandedly rescuing me from the clutches of my ADHD driven tardiness. The only problem I have now is that I can’t stop diarising everything…

Update: 1 March 2021 After multiple updates this app STILL cannot do the basics. Honestly why does it get the accolades it does? Widgets fail to load or display properly. If i remove or amend a reminder in apple’s reminder app it doesn’t correct itself in this app. Alerts will still go off. I have to open the Fantastical app to “resync” everything? Even with background app refresh on.!!!!! Have sent support email to developers and they did respond but no fixes. In fact there’s been a number of updates since but none correct the widget issue. Update: 1 February 2020 After two updates the iPhone STILL blocks standard options that are unlocked on the iPad. Even through the developers have stated that Fantastical 2 owners will be able to use this new version without restrictions. Mess of an app. I purchased Fantastical 2 for both my iPad and iPhone back in November of 2017. Two seperate purchases. Now my iPhone has upgraded to ver 3 without my knowledge. My iPad i had to upgrade manually. Could not use the iPad version as it wanted an account made. Something I hesitated to do. The iPhone version has basic settings that are locked and require a subscription BUT these same settings are not locked on the iPad. Was this app even bug tested? The layout is nice and clean and the weather option is nice but inaccurate for my country. I mean really inaccurate. Trying to stay with this app but frankly am looking at other calendar apps now. I hope they fix these issues for those of us that purchased their products only to find now we are being forced into money gouging subscriptions.

Beautiful app with amazing features and the simplest layout in my opinion. I wish they had two price tiers so I could support them for less than the full price which is just not worth it for me, but I understand that’s probably hard to support. Love using it with the basic features nonetheless.

I found this app when it initially came out and was impressed and made a one purchase for Pro Version when it was a reasonable amount. Now they ask for $73/year, $8.99/month (NZD) and continue to do this annually for a “premium service”? For what? - extended 7 day future forecast of weather - ability to colour code your events - to do basic functions of a calendar that now demands more data for your app. I must say this, thank you for your fantastic past service, but no thank you to your forced unreasonable plans. Time to move on.
