Focal & Naim FAQ
Is Focal & Naim free?
Yes, Focal & Naim is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Focal & Naim legit?
⚠️ The Focal & Naim app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Previous version of this app worked smoothly and efficiently. Recent update introduced glitches that are very annoying and make this app off-putting. I ripped upwards of 4,000 CDs using the previous version. The current version stalls, even closes when I tap Albums or Newest CDs. When I do get into an album to edit metadata, the screen often freezes, or it appears in sections at intervals of several-to-many seconds. Then if I tap on, say, the Artist entry to edit metadata, several times the app has instantly closed and I had to start all over.
NAIM had a good working app. The current version is a nightmare. My brother owns the same equipment — Uniti Nova streamer and Uniti Core rip and store unit (very pricey), and his equipment is now routinely trying to play WAV files as FLAC files, which results in all tracks being reduced to 30 seconds and music skipping to fit that limit. Very disappointing that NAIM has screwed this up. The dealer has been very unhelpful and NAIM has service only on the East Coast, necessitating cross-country shipping of heavy components if you live out west. It cost $200 to ship one Core unit (lighter than the Nova streamer) from Seattle to Niagara Falls, NY. That Core unit, BTW is now in the shop for the second time to repair an inoperative ripping drive. I only got it about one year ago. Specs say the unit can handle an 8TB store drive. That’s a lot of discs and downloads. Seems like the hardware should be more reliable.
Terrible app
This app really hurts my Naim experience,
no matter how much I troubleshoot and try to make it work, it keeps letting me down. I have no issues with other good brands - apps from HiFi Rose and Paradigm work great, everytime.
I thought Focal and Naim were supposed to
be high end, or even luxury; but this app
Is not that. It is an amateur joke - and it will lead me towards never buying another Focal or Naim device.
Impacts enjoyment of Naim products
The iOS app constantly can’t find my Naim speakers and I have to set them up afresh each time. Other controllers such as Spotify also can’t find the speakers. I can’t set the speakers to analog input without the app, so it’s very frustrating not to be able to connect my turntable when I want to.
Why is the wireless technology so poor when the audio tech is so good?
Regularly inconsistent system and control
The MuSo-2 regularly disconnects from the app. The MuSo remote is inoperative. The system turns on without intervention and I cannot turn it off except to pull the power plug. When it works, the MuSo sounds great. It’s a love/hate thing, mostly not love.
Actually works perfectly (Was: New version 6.61 has issues)
What I previously wrote: "The app will not play tracks since the 6.61 update earlier today. Everything else looks normal, but pressing the play arrow does nothing."
What I just discovered: There is nothing wrong with the app whatsoever. In fact, it works flawlessly on both my iPhone and iPad. The problem I encountered was in my Naim Uniti Core, not the app. After rebooting the Core by unplugging and replugging it in, the problem disappeared.
My apologies to Naim and the app developer.
Well designed and never a problem.
I use this daily to stream radio and Spotify. The app is simple to use and well designed. I don’t understand all the poor reviews. I ever have a problem. The Uniti Atom is a nice piece of hardware. My only problem with it was fixed with a new wireless router

Focal Bathys app
Was hesitant after reading bad reviews. Just got Bathys cans, needed the firmware update so downloaded the app. Installed fine, opened up and quickly found my cans, auto prompted the update, ran it and installed via bluetooth. Set up the bathys quickly with a hearing test. Was impressed. Had absolutely NO issues with the app. Maybe others here had issues due to the hardware? Functions are limited, but how much do you need? Controls the eq, LED, and the ANC. Works fine for my needs. Thanks for a well made app.
Works good for Focal Bathys
This app is a very good companion for the Focal Bathys wireless headphones. It has the Mimi thing in it which is also a good thing. The equalizer is weird, and can’t be set easily. If the Bathys is connected to more than one device, even to this device - the app won’t work with it. Happens to be that Sennheiser PXC and other ones they make wireless doesn’t have these issues. I would give this app a 3.75 ratings..
Consistently Fails to Connect
Pretty much every update has introduced some major ux flaw or bug.
I can no longer connect to my Naim devices through the app and my expensive equipment is now useless.
