Unable to use
I’ve been unable to set up mine due to it only using 2.4ghz to setup / connect to wifi. We have Fiber and cannot change it so I feel like I’ve wasted money though all the reviews seem promising. Please update app to be able to use 5ghz or any wifi connection. I was relying on this being a first time mama but now have to keep it old school. Will review again if I’m ever able to set it up. Hopefully soon.
Absolutely love it
Owlet saved our little girl’s life. She had an SVT episode and we were able to catch it early and get to hospital in time.
Lags and some features don’t work reliably
The sock and base station seem to work well…or so I assume. The app however is very glitchy and often notifies well after the base station (luckily our base station is nearby and can be heard). The sleep feature often gives ‘unknown’ as a block of sleep and there’s no explanation I can find as to why this would happen. It also sometimes fails to plot a sleep graph or has gaps in the sleep graph. The app will sometimes take forever to connect to the sock/base station and will require restarting.
Love the sock not the app
The app is super slow to connect and the notifications are almost 5 minutes later than the base station! So don't rely on your phone to tell you something is wrong with the baby.
Mixed feelings
The sock and app are great, when they work together! Seems like every time I pop to a different app and back the app needs to connect again which often takes like 20+ seconds
Also it would be great to get a more fine grain breakdown of the data, 10 minute blocks are too coarse of a measure.
Lastly it would be great if parents had the option to toggle the thresholds. We would be much more comfortable if it alarmed at <90% oxygen rather than <80%.
Smart sock 3
The app never seems able to connect to the base station. It forever says “connecting”. Makes you wonder whether the system really is keeping a close watch on the sock readings or not. I found the lack of real time information (despite good wifi and base station in same room as router) to be a real confidence killer for the owlet smart sock 3
App update issue
The app lags a lot, I have an iPhone 7 and the latest IOS update available on my phone is 12.4 and the app wouldn’t open because it wants me to update the app, when I try to update it it says I need to have IOS 13 or newer. And the app wouldn’t open!!! Plz fix this issue. IOS 13 is not available on my phone yet!!
Sock is great, camera is not worth the money!
We looovveeee the sock, gives so much peace of mind but skip the duo and get a different camera! The app is so unreliable with the camera half the time if does not load and I just get a black screen, while this is happening I can still see the sock readings but the camera just does not show up! So frustrating! Seems to be worse since the last app update too
Terrible stability and at times useless app.
I’ve had owlet for about 2 years now. It’s not a stable and reliable app. Most times I open the app I have to close out completely and restart. It never shows me the camera feed first time. There’s always sometime of workaround I have to to do to make it work. I’ve reinstall this app so many times. Checked my network over and over. Removed the camera from the network and app several times yet it just doesn’t make it work again. I can’t recommend this app at all. If it worked as says it does on the box it’d be awesome. But it doesn’t.
Graph always lagging
Often the graph function doesn’t work (supposed to update every 10 mins) but often won’t be able to see the data until the morning after wearing it since 7pm the previous night
