Qfile Pro is a free companion app for QNAP NAS that allows you to browse and manage the files on your NAS using your iPhone or iPad.
Prerequisites:
- iOS 13 or later
- QNAP NAS running QTS 4.0 or later, QuTS hero 4.5.0 or later
Major features of Qfile Pro:
- Access files on your QNAP NAS anytime, anywhere.
- Directly upload photos and documents from your iOS devices to your NAS.
- Easy sharing: Create download links to easily share files via email or SMS, or simply email the file as an attachment.
- Easy management: Move, copy, rename, and delete files on your NAS using your mobile device. No computer required.
- Offline file reading: Download files from your NAS to your iOS device for convenient access when you do not have an Internet connection.
- Auto upload: Automatically upload photos from your device's photo gallery to the NAS. (To ensure that Qfile Pro can continually provide this background service, you must allow the location service - please note that this may noticeably decrease battery life.)
- Qysnc integration: Synchronize files between your mobile device and your QNAP NAS. (Requires QTS 4.3.4/QuTS hero 4.5.0 or later, and Qsync Central to be installed on your QNAP NAS device.)
Other features:
1. Support for displaying files thumbnail.
2. Supports control playback from QNAP NAS to DLNA devices. (requires QNAP Media Server, and QTS 4.0/QuTS hero 4.5.0 or later)
3. Support for file compression. (QTS 4.0/QuTS hero 4.5.0 or later)
If you try to download files to local storage the app just crashes. Reloading causes it to almost insta crash.
Sometimes it doesn’t show any remaining jobs, then suddenly the background downloads will reappear in the tasks list.
Needs fixing.
Brilliant app
Luving this app it works great, I use it with my nas to back everything up, works like a dream
Ignore old reviews. It works well.
The app is working well. Any old reviews are about the version that was 4+ years old which wasn’t great. Updated version from past year has been working well for me anyway.
Handy to sync phone photos to Qnap!
Absolute tosh
Try to log in using authenticator code as extra security, app takes so long to parse data keeps saying code invalid as it’s now timed out. Terrible app. Go back to Synology!
Limited features
Love the nas I purchased but this companion app is limited weak sauce by comparison, very limited integration with the iPad os files app and it’s seemingly impossible to move folders around once they’ve been downloaded from the server, I’m using file explorer pro now which knocks this offering into a cocked hat.. it’s a shame that your app hasn’t kept pace with iOS..
Runs very smoothly
Latest update runs very smoothly but I can’t work out how to log out of my qnap! Do I simply close the app? The old version had a logout button.
Someone got giddy with the animations
While I like a smooth UI Like most people, someone's got way too overexcited with the animations in this version, things sliding on and off the screen animations bouncing up and down scrolling off then back on again loading spinners. The old app felt a lot easier to navigate and just did what it said on the tin, I don't see the need for all this animation overhead.
Doesn’t integrate with Files
Why doesn’t the Qfile integrate with iOS Files?
My WD Mycloud did and was a third of the price of QNAP NAS!
For this, 1 star.
Unreliable and crashing constantly
No background upload and crashing all the time on iOS 14.0.x
Started regretting my QNAP purchase.
Auto upload broken
There is a bug where auto upload doesn’t work when you have power connected to the phone but it does when the power is disconnected. This is obviously the wrong way around.
