Trainline Reviews

Seamless and cost effective

MikeNat17 on

The easiest and most cost effective way to book and pay your train tickets at anytime to any place.

Couldn’t use the ticket I bought

Klarie_24 on

It is an easy app to buy your tickets. However my ticket’s QR code never showed even though I bought the ticket 2 weeks in advance. I ended up needing to buy an expensive ticket at the station in Brussels.

Quick and easy to book our train tickets to get from London to Bath - fabulous

Worst app - poor dealing in case of train cancellation

NataliaPtSa on

South Africa

I purchased the tickets through trainline and my train was cancelled. First of all there should be some notification, and there wasn't, I found out in the last moment. Second, there should be some automatic process of reimbursement - there is none, YOU have to go and beg the support to reimburse you for the ticket for the train that was cancelled!! And then customer care dares to respond "your tickets are non refundable" but they are going to make you a great favour of requesting money back from the train carrier. I bought my other tickets directly with the train carrier and will do that every other time. No additional booking fees, and I am sure in case of cancellation they can help me much better than trainline.

So easy

Clear, easy to use and made a great saving

No platform information

sjdhbfuensnjsnkskdbfb on

South Africa

I had to go to the national railway apps like NS international to search what platforms my international trains are leaving which took substantial time in between transfers. Easy to purchase tickets but not user friendly while traveling.

This app is hassle free and my go-to when booking all my European train tickets.. Thank you team 👊🏻

Unable to download older version for pre-iOS 13.4

unhappy paid subscriber on

South Africa

On the App Store I’m informed that my iOS can’t support the latest version of the app and I then opt for downloading an older version. However, this doesn’t update and instead keeps repeating the same pop-up message. Update edit: Trainline still hasn’t fixed this after several months. I’ll now switch to another ticket app.

Lack of information and no recourse when errors occur

Dr DB Laurenson on

Our train split in Perpignan and we were left behind There is NO information on the app regarding this And your only contact option in an urgent situation is an automated machine that does not understand English Us a different app!!!
