Couchsurfing Travel App

To verify your phone or address you have to firstly undergo a “payment verification”, what usually evokes a small amount payment to verify your identity. No, here its full blast 70€ “lifetime verification” (I guess last resort attempt to justify the price but it doesnt make sense in essence otherwise), what is supposedly written somewhere before the payment but I honestly didnt see it so its probably small… what a coincidence.. also, there are no refunds obviously, I wrote to the support😉

Couchsurfing charged me a €56 “verification” fee without any clear prior disclosure. At no point during the process was the fee transparently communicated or itemized. The interface is deliberately misleading, making it appear as though verification is a standard, free part of setting up an account. By the time you realize what’s happening, the fee is already charged. This kind of non-transparent, manipulative design is unacceptable. Users must be clearly informed of all charges before payment is processed.

The application needs to be updated. It often has many errors and is slow. But otherwise the point is great 🤌

I used to love this app back in 2017/18 but now after covid it has so many bugs. And it asks you to pay (which is okay but then it needs to work 100% ) Now I am unable to log into my account yet it is the same email, there must have been an error within app. I paid via Apple ID, that has the same email like my previous account, and suddenly got logged into a completely new account which doesn't allow me to confirm my email coz it says it's existing 🤯 so now I have lost my match, can't even find a new one and need to pay for accommodation and find one for today! And the CS is not solving my issue hardly responsive I am sorry but if you ask people to pay your service needs to work

Very good app

I’m locked out of my account and I can’t access my profile & connect with my friends because these greedy bunch of people running after money. I host people and don’t save any money by using Couchsurfing but still Couchsurfing HQ wants to make profit out of this and asking me to pay to access my account or delete it. Bunch of blackmailers.

Thanks to couchsurfing I've met so many interesting people on my travels. Installing the CS app is definitely worth it as it allows you to use the hangouts as well! :)

Being a part of Couchsurfing community is great. But using the app is a challenge sometimes (not often). Some bugs happen which make it confusing. But all in all, I am satisfied ;) Thank you!
