I have booked a car through this app but unfortunately I had to cancel my booking due to my private circumstances. That’s where all the struggle started. It turned out that Rentalcars is just an intermediary. The company that was actually renting a car informed me at the desk that they cannot help me with cancellation at all and suggested me to contact the Rentalcars. Rentalcars provide only one international number which I couldn’t call due to balance issues on my sim card (I suppose it is rather expensive call). What’s more application doesn’t allow to cancel booking directly from the app. To my direct letter with request to cancel my booking contact center specialist send me the cancellation instruction but I again couldn’t follow it at the app as there simply no such a option as to cancel the booking. I wrote yet another letter and asked to cancel my booking. Waiting how the case develops further.

Rentalcars lost my booking so couldn’t send me confirmation email. They had charged me though. They made me create a PDF of the screenshot of my credit card before they’d even try to look for it. Then said they’d respond 5 to 7 days later. My booking was two days away so they told me the best thing to do was book and pay for another car. Customer service is a nightmare. Inept, incompetent and couldn’t care less. Recommend avoiding at all costs
They wouldn’t refund despite a 4 hour wait until a car was available. Avoid, and book direct to mitigate this risk.
I hired a car via Rental cars from OK mobility, if you go onto Trust pilot and read the reviews of OK mobility you will see they are completely scamming people out of deposits - I lost £1000 myself. I don’t believe if Rental cars did some proper investigations Into this they would be promoting business to OK Mob - therefore I will boycott them (Rental cars) until they take action against OK Mob and I suggest you do the same ….
I have used this company for many years. However, due to a program error, I booked and paid for a car on October 11 instead of October 13. Without checking the date, I completed the payment. A minute later, I noticed the mistake and contacted support, who said they couldn’t do anything because there were less than 48 hours left. Why? What is the problem with simply moving the reservation? I am not canceling it; I am asking the company to be customer-oriented and just reschedule it two days later. If necessary, I would have paid extra. However, the manager just kicked me out of the chat, saying he couldn’t do anything. No support whatsoever! I will never use this company again until you learn how to operate properly. You just took all the money with a 100% cancellation penalty. I am a customer; I pay money and expect the company to meet me halfway. What kind of service is this? Just throwing a paying customer who spends thousands of euros a year out of the chat!
Poor communication and unfair pricing. I was charged twice for a rental—once in advance and again at a higher rate upon collection due to a canceled reservation I wasn't informed about. The lack of transparency and refusal to issue a refund is unacceptable. Would not recommend it.
After hiring a car, from the Rentalcars they had made a clerical error and didn’t let the hire company know I had payed for the hire already, so they changed me again. Initial hire was £164 for 6 days when the hire company charged me £134. So instead of finding the best deal the surcharge to use their services makes it cheaper to go though the hire company directly. This issue has taken months to sort, due to data protection any issues can’t be resolved by rentalcars contacting the hire company and no over the phone complaints procedures, meaning you have to spend loads of time emailing the complaints team. I used the loads years ago but service has changed since then, never again.
